Back to repeats today, starting with the infamous 'Paramaribo-gate' episode!

John Ryan, the series producer of Pointless, has tweeted today:


I find that just DISGRACEFUL!
I'm so appalled at the decision they made that I registered on BBC and posted my thoughts on the Points of View messageboard.

Well they only record the show at certain times of the year...(currently unknown when)...(3 or 4 shows a day!) .. most likely soon recording will begin again on new episodes...

That is pretty bad of them but I guess most casual viewers won't notice/care.

I know its a time when they probably won't want to waste shows on lower audiences but if that's the case why not put something new and risky out and give Pointless a break? Kind of like ITV and Tipping Point/that Tim Vine show I've forgotten, last year, and look how that turned out for them.

They could surely do better than just months of repeats. Boo!

According to the Radio Times, the new shows begin again on the 2nd of September.

Hooray! It's about time it came back. Sick of seeing SO MANY repeats on TV these days.

Got a Pointless answer in the final both yesterday and today!

I got 2 pointless answers in the final today (Julia Davies and John Thompson). Which takes my total of pointless answers in the final to .......... 2.

Oh, that was so unfortunate that they didn't win the Jackpot today. They came up with a Pointless answer, but put it down for the wrong topic.

What was the question?

Films directed by Alan Parker, Stephen Frears, or Ridley Scott. They came up with 'The Van', which was a Pointless Stephen Frears film, but said it for Alan Parker instead.

Got a Pointless answer today! Category was 21st Century Rock Bands and the question was to name Top 40 singles by Muse, The Killers or Kings of Leon. Got a Pointless with Hysteria by Muse. I was really surprised that was Pointless!

In the head-to-head round, the question was adjectives beginning with Q.
One of those answers looked like this:

I really did well on today's show, not to mention the final, on classic slapstick comedy. I got all the mentioned Pointless answers in the Laurel and Hardy section; as Richard said, a huge fan of the boys would definitely have got all the answers for that one.

I think I just got one of those surveys used for Pointless. It was about Contemporary Novels. Absolutely hopeless at that! Still got 16p for doing it though!

Today's episode of Pointless is the start of series 10! BBC's official site says there will be another 70 episodes.

I got a Pointless answer today: I guessed Chris Donald as the co-founder of Viz, as he's the only person associated with that magazine (which I don't read) that I've heard of.

Back to repeats today, for the next two weeks at least.
