Well...death comes calling sooner than the addicts think.

Play with fire and you're burnt. A friend of my mum's died a few years back after what we interpret as an accidental heroin overdose, he was 34. Not famous, of course, but 34 is too young to die.
I feel very sorry for her family and all of her fans; for the family of a person so young the feeling must be indescribable.
But...I hope that, like with Jade Goody and the awareness of more women to have those scans, this deters the (many) kids of today who are likely to go out and take all these drugs and smoke everything, get hammered every night and also die young.

This is like Alex Higgins in a few ways - you know, it's quite a frank portrait of the effects of abuse on the body. It's a frank portrait of being "troubled", to use a phrase that I know is painfully common in the media.
Except Alex was 61....and you have to spare a thought, a long thought, for the people who don't get the chance of living that long...


But do remember Winehouse had that chance. It was her life, it was her brilliant talent, and it was her who wasted that. Here in England...we have to pay attention to our cultures...or we're going to have a lot more people joining the "27 Club".


Well...I hope she is remembered for a long time - IMO, the girl had a voice to die for.

I only just heard about this, this is what happens when people go too far with drugs and are not able to escape them...a huge loss and you can bet there'll be sickos out there who will try and make really bad and unforgiving jokes about it.

It's really sad how she died at age 27.

I was both shocked and sad when I heard about her death.

Poor girl, and only 27 years of age too, just tragic really. What is it with musicianas dying at 27? Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain...etc etc?

Well, despite what some thought of her, she was a character with a lot of talent and she should go down as one of the most influential artists of the 00’s.

I hope she’s in a better place now. R.I.P. Amy Winehouse.
