Well, does this really need any introduction? For those who live in woks, Toy Story is the hit Disney Pixar franchise about the toys of a boy called Andy. The third installment is out finally after 11 long years since the second film after the original storyline was scrapped. Notable characters include protagonists Woody - a cowboy voiced by Tom Hanks and a spaceman action figure called Buzz Lightyear voiced by Tim Allen. The third one stars nearly all the original toys plus more with only a squeaky penguin called Wheezy and Little Bo Peep as well as a few side characters missing. Wheezy's voice actor Joe Rantf is sadly now deceased explaining his absence from the movie but strangely Slinky's voice actor also died shortly after Toy Story 2 but he got a new voice actor for number three. Anyway back to the plot, the story sees Andy now aged 17 leaving for college and having to say goodbye to his old toys. However when he seperates Woody from the others and decides to take Woody to college with him whilst putting the others in the attic, a mix-up with bags sees the toys including Woody who joins the others in Sunnyside Daycare. When Woody then escapes and is found by a nice little girl called Bonnie, he finds out that his friends are being bullied by evil dictator style teddy bear Lots-O-Huggin and goes to save them. I went to see it with my friend and it was just amazing even in 2D. The ending is very emotional and lovely and there is a certain scene that has just got everyone talking. If you haven't saw it, I suggest that you do. I grew up with the first two and had many of the toys. Notable new characters include hilarious octopus Stretch voiced by Whoopi Goldberg, thespian hedgehog Mr. Pricklepants voiced by Timothy Dalton and triceratops Trixie voiced by Kirsten Schall. So have you saw it? Discuss here.

I went to go and see this last night in 3D. Oh my gosh it was bloody amazing! *beep* brilliant.

The first five minutes where they were in the dessert was epic! Lots of funny moments, sad moments, Andy all grown up. So bloody peeved when I heard about Bo Peep! :( She was one of the originals!

I had to hold it together at the end though. I had such a lump in my throat, it was so sad. All I can say is I'm glad I was wearing my 3D glasses to hide the fact I was welling up, I know that sounds so pathetic but Toy Story was such a big part of my childhood and I grew up with it. When Andy said they 'meant a lot to him' I could totally empathize because he shared his toys with the viewers and they're so lovable and easily the best toys ever they 'meant alot to me' too i.e. my childhood. The saddest part was watching Andy play with his toys one last time before saying goodbye and giving them to a new owner, it was like the end of an era.

Toy Story is one of the most magical, warm, gooey, nostalgic, classic films ever, and it will ALWAYS have a friend in me.

*Goes off to cry in the corner*

LOL I know, as Andy said goodbye to his childhood so did I and my friend as we grew up with the films and had many of the toys. I even had Wheezy who wasn't in it sniff sniff.

I remember having plastic Woody, Buzz, Rex and Hamm toys. There was a feature on Buzz where you pressed this little red button and his wings would shoot out from the sides, I was so impressed! Woody had a hat and a lasso that would go round his waist but it kept falling down. I was so hoping that he'd have a string on his back that you could pull and he'd say something, but it didn't have that feature. :(

I hope they're in the attic and I didn't chuck them away because I want them as ornaments now. On second thoughts I think I gave them away to charity. :( I also have the Toy Story sega megedrive game which I might have to play on later.

Back to the film, I loved how Pixar revisted Toy Story 1 with the opening scene. It was basically the same opening to Toy Story 1 but with a few minor changes. They even used the exact same references "you can't touch me, Sheriff. I brought my attack dog with a built-in force field!" and "well I brought my dinosaur, who eats force field dogs!" I loved how they did that.
