IT'S COMING BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was axed in 2000 but it is rightfully being revived, with auditions being held in London over the coming weeks for brand new Gladiators.

The only catch is that Sky have bought the rights to the show, so looks like it is Sky One-bound...

Prison Break too! :D

All I've heard is that Ian Wright is being chased for one of the hosts, and that they've already got the best man involved for the show - JOHN ANDERSON!!! :D

I loved gladiators and watched every series when it was originally broadcast on ITV many moons ago.

Lightning & Hunter were my faves although I did like Wolf for entertainment value

If Jet isn't in it then I'm not watching! I GOT THE POWAH, I GOT THE POWAH!!!

(Apparently, nowadays, Diane Youdale is a psychotherapist on the Trisha show???)

Also, they'd better have the same referee, sending the contenders off on the first whustle & the second whustle!

The bit that always annoyed me: Fash never gave credit to Red Dwarf for inventing the "Awooogah!" catchphrase...

Fantastic stuff. I remember watching it in 1994 and I was ever so addicted.

My favourite gladiator was hunter! :D

Anyone remember Eunice Huthart the Gladiator competitor who won in 1994 and went on to represent her country in the 1994 International Gladiators series, and she went on to win the title of female International Champion! She then became a Gladiator BLAZE

After the filming of the Gladiators she was made the European kickboxing champion and was ranked number three in the world. In 1995 she was chosen to be a new Gladiator for the Sheffield Live Shows, due to her outstanding skills in the arena and the popularity she had gained.

As a Gladiator she excelled in Atlaspheres and Pursuit as she could be the hunter instead of the prey!

Her role as Blaze was short lived due to the fact she wanted to represent the UK as a contender in the 1995 Ashes series, in which she came runner-up. She regained her title in the Battle Of The Champions also in 1995, she decided it was time retire from competing in Gladiators while she was at the top. However, she returned in 1996 as a Northern Contenders team coach.

She then went on to become a stunt woman after being spotted in the Gladiators, she has since starred in Golden Eye, Avengers and Titanic, to name only a few

Yes I remember her from Gladiators. Also saw repeats on one of the freeview channels a few months ago and she was on it. It was a channel that had shows like Gladiators, Krypton Factor and Bullseye from early-mid 1990's (or maybe further back in the case of the other 2) on 5 days a week at 6pm - 7pm.

Just thought I'd drag this topic back up as the events and Gladiators for the new series have been announced.

Male gladiators:
Atlas
Destroyer
Oblivion
Predator
Spartan
Tornado

Female gladiators:
Battleaxe
Enigma
Ice
Inferno
Panther (not the same one as the old Panther)
Tempest

Events:
The Wall
Hang Tough
Duel
Powerball
Gauntlet
Pyramid
Hit & Run
Earthquake (new event)

None of the female gladiators appeal to me visually, though Panther looks like she could be a fierce gladiator.

For more info, check out http://www1.sky.com/gladiators/

I loved her, she was brilliant, you could almost forgive her for being a Scouser

The old Gladiators are in their late 30s, 40s now don't be silly! :P

Sounds good then that many of the old events are still in it, ones like Pole Axe have been dropped, but now we have Earthquake!

But the Eliminator remains too! And now the adverts have started so looks like it'll be here late June at the very latest!

It's due to start mid-May, with today being the recording of the first show.

P.S. Wolf is in his late 50s, so is a bit too old!
