I know for definite that I am a lot more picky with stuff on TV nowadays.

Well there's certainly some bad stuff out there, even at primetime.

However I think there's a nice mix of shows at the moment, in fact I most probably watch too much TV.

There's shows I always watch and then there's ones that I may watch once in a blue moon or if I catch something while channel hopping.

I hardly watch TV anyway...

All I watch regularly is Eastenders and The Simpsons, although I occasionally watch episodes of DoND and recordings of The IT Crowd.

TV's awesome at this time of year...there's loads of stuff i like on.

Basically, after next week (Good Friday when Friday Night Project is said to be starting again), there will be something i like watching on each night.

I agree with JiveClive (God help us all), British tv is at such a low standard at the moment, there are a few things that stand out from what I hear but I don't watch much, I watch all the american shows as they are bar far better.

Looking back on it, it does actually appear that i watch more American shows than English ones.

Those English ones being: DOND, Harry Hill, Skins, Mitchell and Webb Look, FNP..

May I remind you all that the British are better in music and TV. Monty Phython, Only fools and horses, Little Britain, Top of the pops, Harry hill et cetera. In the U.K we've got silly people doing silly things while over there they've got clever people doing clever things. Face it American TV is stupid British TV is great but just lost a bit of appeal

What American Shows have you been watching?? Theyve made shows like Friends, Will & Grace, American Idol (which is a ton better then our X Factor), The Amazing Race, Ugly Betty, LOST, 24. I could go on and on. Ok, we have Big Brother (Which is a bit better then theres), Im a celeb, harry hill and after them im lost for shows!

I have to say American TV is better then UK TV!

The US have a larger depth of drama, simply because they have four highly competitive networks and their staples are the kind of thing ITV1 does, but with bigger budgets.

Their gameshows are almost parodies now, especially post-DoND. Unfortunately we've been subject to some of those formats with very little change apart from budgets (though only Identity has been on terrestrial television, Sky One have had carbon copies of Are You Smarter, Nothing But The Truth and - coming soon - Don't Forget The Lyrics, with only the budget (and in the first two cases the names) really changed).

Can't say I watch that much from either country, I'm mostly a sports-and-gameshows guy.

Aitch,

British shows were the best, back in the days of On the Buses (which you was in), Open All hours, etc.

These days it's pretty crap, something needs to be done about it and I read earlier that Channel 4 is cutting back it's American imports to concentrate on home grown stuff.

Oh and craig I agree with you, JiveClive is talking rubbish.... whats new

What annoys me intensely about TV is the ever-increasing amount of "celebrity" shows. "Celebrities" dancing, singing, skating, cooking or stuck up a tree eating cockroaches. It's like, "What are the celebrities doing tonight? Oh, they're doing animal impersonations!"

And cak shows like that are always presented by Philip Schofield, Graham Norton or Ant and flamin' Dec!

What about some new faces? An all-star-cast has the effect of just making me switch off.

I'm an Interior decorator and some of my clients said to me I would like some space where we could fit in a plasma screen tv. But what bothers me is what do they have to watch. DOND has got mediocre, Big brother has gone downhill since season 7 and now all you see on RTE1 is Grahame Norton
