I loved that Lithuanian entry last year. LT United - "We Are The Winners". Not over-confident at all! :-D They should have won.

I haven't heard the UK entry from Scooch. I almost bet the house and car on The Darkness' Justin Hawkins getting through as our entry, but its just as well I didn't. I don't think we'll win. I can see us being down in the lower half of the table.

I'll be interested to see how the Israeli entry goes down - something about nuking Iran and called "Push the Button" ! They talked about banning it but I don't think they did. That should be well funny!

Once again it is time for the great night of Euro drinking.

Arm yourself with two bottles of your favourite firewater ( I use Southern Comfort) and have one shot at the start of every song to salute the competing nation.

(Normally it is better if you stand and say loudly " Here's to Serbolatviaestonia" or what ever)

Trust me ... by the end of song ten... every song is a winner and sometimes you want to join in those classic Euro dance routines.

Remember....Geordie says .... binge drinking is bad...except on Eurovision Song Contest Night and any day ending in a " Y "

Eurovision is a hoot & we'll probably be glued to the tv watching :D

As for Scooch ............. well as far as we are concerned they are an embarassment and do NOT deserve to win but it will be still be a laugh seeing how badly they do  ;)

Down with Scooch

1 week and counting till UK Eurovision credibility finally goes out the window and the UK are the laughing stock (yet again) of Eurovision

Last year it should have been Finland 1, UK 2, and Lithuania 3.

I bet Scooch actually get loads of points this year and stun the entire country. I can just hear Terry Wogan going "You said it had no chance! You said it would get Nil Points!".

But it'll probably get six and I'll look stupid.

The song is incredibly cheesy and very naff - but isn't that the point of Eurovision songs? I've seen them perform the song on TV and I've seen the music video on the internet and it's all very light-hearted stuff! As it is so cheesy, it does stand a chance of doing fairly well tomorrow! I think some countries in Europe take it a bit too seriously! :?

We won't win though for a number of reasons - all the mainland countries in Europe vote for their neighbours - and being an island, we don't have any neighbours (except Ireland and possibly France).

Europe isn't too keen on the UK anyway and even less so since the Iraq War of 2003! :? I believe in 2003 (was it?) we got "nul points" - although that was because the song that year was horribly performed!
