sorry but going to put this in too. my key question here is the grathics used in the news programme . allow me to explain. when a story comes up say in the uk & they show you a vertual map of the earth locating the area of issue. what programme do they use for this? i did think it was microsoft earth, but when googling this could not find the right programme for it. i got google earth but would like to try microsoft vertual earth as well which i think the BBC uses. yes i might try asking the BBC as well. but i though i may aslo pick the brains of others on here as well.

When I have seen such maps come up before, they often say "Courtesy of Google" on it, or it might have the Google logo in the corner. I think they use some sort of Google Earth program - maybe a premium / special version that you have to pay for.

I would also agree with that, Tom.

I think ITV news needs a major rethink. It comes across as sensationalist and tabloid- a prime example was last night's News at Ten, which chose as its lead story The Diana Inquest (yawn!) which affects precisely..er...nobody, and not the Northern Rock story which potentially could affect every mortgage payer in the country.

Also I find Sir Trevor unbearable smug and pompous these days.

Maybe BBC use Google Earth Pro ($400) or something even better.

Isn't it just normal google earth, filmed, and put onto green screen?
