I'm setting this up because I'm bored...

Oh, and because The Beautiful South are the greatest band on the planet and released some absolutely timeless classics during their 17 years together... unfortunately, they only ever got to the number 1 spot once and the number 2 spot twice- even though almost every single one of their singles was incredible.

So what's your favourite?

Personally, I actually can't decide between any of the options in this poll (including the "other" option  ) because I love them all so much!

A Little Time, closely followed by Good As Gold (Stupid As Mud). Also, can't believe Song for Whoever didn't get a mention...

OMG, I love Downtown... I was torn between Song For Whoever and Think Twice... but someone sang Think Twice brilliantly just before my audition and got through so I ended up doing Song For Whoever instead- still failed miserably

I've narrowed my choice down to either A Little Time, Perfect Ten, Manchester or The Rose Of My Cologne now... Argh, they're all too good- why did they ever have to split?

'Happy Hour' by The Housemartins remains Paul Heatons greatest moment IMHO, it was maybe Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim)'s greatest moment too.

I've always been dodgy with The Housemartins myself- I think, although some of their songs ("Me And The Farmer" and "Build" in particular) are very good, I've always found the male/female duet element of The Beautiful South highly appealing and I think the lyrics of the TBS songs are far more poignant than those of The Housemartins.

I've also decided- I'm going to vote for A Little Time... mainly for Briana's part in it because Paul's- although brilliant- is too repetitive but her part (I absolutely adore the "I found a little couuurrraage, to call it off" line) is musical beauty.

From the list, I'd go for My Book. Classy song and it's not every day Peter Beardsley gets to feature in the lyrics! Of all time, I'd go for I'll Sail This Ship Alone.
