I haven't heard very good stuff about this show so far, what with people saying it's boring and dragged out... but I think it's quite good actually and I'll certainly be watching again today!

There are 8 people who have different jobs and therefore salaries, ranging from about £60k to £3k, and the salaries are placed on a gameboard, rather like DOND's. The contestant then has limited information to try and work out which person has each wage, and at the end of each "round" (i.e. after finding out information about each person), they have to nominate one of the people to leave, and the idea is to nominate one of the lower earners, as when there are 3 people remaining, the contestant has to choose which one is the highest earner, and if they are correct, they win what that person earns in a year, if they are wrong, they leave with nothing.

The person who gets picked as the highest earner leaves with £3,000 just for being picked, those who are not picked leave with nothing. There could be some quite interesting differences here - such as in one show, the top 3 earners might be left, and in another, the bottom 3 earners might be left, menaing that the prize money up for grabs in each show could vary between £60k and £3k approximately. There is also an added twist whereby the contestant can ask to hear what the different jobs are of the final 3, but obviously not hear who has which job and which salaries the jobs match up to. If they choose to hear this information though, the money up for grabs is halved - so in yesterday's show, the highest earner remaining at the end was £61,000, but the contestant chose to gain more information by hearing what the 3 jobs are, meaning the prize up for grabs was halved to £30,500. He picked the highest earner correctly and won the money.

I definitely think the show has potential and it seems quite good to me.

It actually reminds me a bit of DOND the way they have to try and keep the people with the highest wages to the end... and then when they nominate a person to leave, it's a bit like picking a box on DOND, as they reveal their wage and that wage is removed from the board, which is rather like the board they use for DOND.

Nick Hancock isn't bad at presenting it either, and it isn't too trashy - the audience don't yell out like they do in some gameshows, and it has a "serious" element like DOND does, which I like.

Admittedly, it isn't as tense as DOND, but it does have the added element of trying to work out what people's jobs are based on very little information and going on body language and stuff... and I have to admit yesterday, I did pretty well and would've won the top prize! :P

As was pointed out, there is a 1 in 3 chance of going away with something, so the odds are quite good, as the wages range from about £60k to £3k, so even if you left the bottom three earners to the end, you've still got a 1 in 3 chance of going away with at least a few thousand pounds, but at the moment, I like it. I can see it getting quite repetitive though, so can't see it getting a permanent slot, but I think it's a nice, easy-going replacement for DOND during the summer.

As dond_rules points out, this is playing on the psychological element of DoND (and the set is not dissimilar either), as opposed to its blind-luck-and-host-sanctioned-recklessness. Good thing, too.

Obviously the comparison will be with Payday, but this is more like the US show Identity which is coming to BBC2 soon.

Is it just me who'd try to leave a high/low/low finish though? I'd rather have had Roger and two low earners in that final three than what he had. Having said that I would have got rid of Roger as I wasn't certain of him - he could have been at either extreme (a part-time semi-retired worker of some description, or what he actually was) and I'd be nervous of that in the final - so that wouldn't have worked!!

I was expecting Roger to be the highest earner, but I had had Howard down as one of the low earners. I expected John to be the highest earner today.

One winner out of five over the first week isn't a particuularly good success rate... :?

Still, at least I'm still watching! :-)

WMW. I LOVE it. Not as good as FTROYL since you HAVE to pl;ay to the end, and a 1,000,000 times better than golden balls because thats just stupid, making such a polava out of a few golden balls....

Brilliant, WMW, but not as good as DoND

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

The woman lost yesterday. it was 50/50 really and she picked the wrong one. For once it was bleeding obvious who the low earner was out of the three. I thought it was probably Simon because of the divorces but I wasn't quite sure.

Hope it's better next week :D

While I don't mind watching the programme, nobody seems to understand the best way of playing the game. Surely the best result would be to leave the top wage, and the two lowest, so that there's a big contrast for the final decision?

However, if the player reveals a middle amount at the first guess, the audience gasp, and Nick Hancock says, "Well, it's not great..." They seem to think it's DOND, where revealing the lowest numbers first results in a higher win, but when you can only ever win the highest amount, that doesn't really make sense.

Something I've noticed is when the picture of the person of when they were younger is displayed, Nick Hancock nearly always says nothing, or he says "Oh my word!" in a rather odd style.

She won the maximum amount , I think it was £65,000, sadly the guy today thought that someone who earns £6,500 was the top wage earner.

The best strategy is indeed to leave the highest wage with the two lowest ones, but I suppose it's risky doing that as when you're trying to differentiate between the high and the middle ones to try and decide which ones to remove, you may accidentally hit the highest one.

Either way, it's a very good show and I really enjoy it - definitely good whilst DOND's not on, but it wouldn't lget a permanent slot like DOND has as there's not enough variety in it and the amounts won are all similar - normally about £60k, £30k if they get help by finding out the jobs and the money is split, or nothing at all.
