Also, here's one from a while ago that i only just recently got passed my nostalgia glasses to realize how much of an abomination it really is - The Calling "Wherever you will go".

It made me realize how bad that post-BritPop/pre-Angst era actually was for rock music, as it was mostly either earbleed-inducing screeching known as "nu metal", or boy bands trying to do Pearl Jam impressions, and "The Calling" was the latter category in its absolute prime.....and this is ignoring the fact that rock music around that time was beginning its slow de-evolution into becoming nothing but Chad Kroeger doing his persistent half-a*sed impressions of Yosemite Sam leaving the Looney tunes to become a pub singer

I don't know why, but "Anxiety" by Doechii really gets under my skin. I guess it's just too reminders of 2022, where all the big hits where old songs being lazily sampled/revived due to charts being creatively destitute in terms of new stuff.....It just makes me appreciate the original by Gotye more
