I agree with the fact that brenda was a really memorable player and it annoyed me during Stella's game that Noel called it the most powerful ever just to build up the hype. Brenda should definitely have been in the HOF and should have got a mention in Stella's game.

I know she got a mention in Nick D's game back in August for being the only player to get a 3rd offer of £31,000
(which has now been beaten of course by £35,000 Nicola)
but that's the only other time I've heard her mentioned.

It was a year ago that Peter played, he was renowned for his advice while on the wings, but he had a bit of an unfortunate game - was left with £100k, £5k and 6 blues at 8-box, dealt at £3,500 as he didn't want to chase the money in a 1 box game and go with nothing. Sadly he avoided the £100k until the final pair showdown and was offered a hypo £35k! :(

Why is it that when people choose not to chase the money that they would have ended up being right to?

lets all celebrate!!!it was exqctly one yearago that Dazzling Daz took the walk of wealth and won himself £45,000! Unfortunately it didnt pay off, as at 2-box hewould have been offered £105,000, and it turned out the £250k was in his box all along.

i wrote that all simply from memory, so anyone add to that.

ps - i'm coming up to his game in my games simulation on my forum
EDIT: "simulated" his game just now, dealt at £23k and had £250k in my box

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

Let's just say that Daz had a sequence game, he was picked very early, and £45k was a ridiculuosly high offer for the board he had with only £15k as a safety net.

It was one I do remember watching, I didn't see them all back then, and when the £45k offer came up I shouted "TAKE IT, THAT's HUGE"!!! as I could tell how much he needed the money! Happy for him that he won what was back then one of the top 10 biggest wins, he was great! :)

There was no show on 12 February 2006, due to it being a Sunday, so the next date to note is today, 13th February, marks the day that Bearded Chris played on DOND - Chris didn't have the best of games - his peak offer being only £4,400! He dealt at the 4th offer of £1,500, then went on to have proveout offers of £2,200 and £2.50, with a final 2 of £1 and £5, £5 being in his box, box 1. At the end of the show, when Sam opened box 17, the £1 label had dropped into the box, meaning the famous "blank box" moment was created!

A clip of this moment, along with some appropriate humorous music, is available here - http://nothingondealornodeal.ytmnd.com

Yes, it's one year to the day since Helen played on Valentine's Day. All the contestants were suitably dressed in tuxedos for the men and posh dresses for the women! She dealt at the 4th offer of £4,800, which was the highest offer of the game, being offered £1,200 in proveout, with £3,000 in her box, box 9.

I didn't see this one, but it sounds a bit of a rubbish game if the peak offer was less than £5k, hardly matching the occasion!

Still, it was good that she made the best of a bad job and beat the banker - just goes to show that dealing for a modest 4-figure sum on a poor board does often pay off.

I can't imagine anyone dealing an offer like that now! :)

Lowest OPW of all time, I think...still, a low OPW is still an OPW!

Today is one year to the day since Benita played - Benita played after 20 shows and carried box 1 to the table - she dealt at her fifth offer of £27,000, the highest offer of the game, and the final proveout offer was £18,000, and she only had 10p in her box! A proper banker beating done in style!
