I thought James was great! Easily my favourite James from the show so far, I actually forgot how much I liked him until now.

James rocked! :D He played a great game, and £14,700 is a cool amount, and it was an OPW with a 3rd offer deal, and he had a beard, and I could go on...

I remember someone saying that this game was a turning point for DOND, as previously the 22 contestants were percieved as being boring on here, but as James dealt so early it meant that they were given more camera time.

This week and the week before were pretty darn good weeks, though! The newbie in James' game was Joseph, I wonder if he knew at the time how long he'd have to wait for his game...

I can't even remember James. Why have the photos stopped being posted each day? It used to remind me who each person was.

6th June 2007 is a year since Suzanne Akers played after 20 shows on the wings and she had box 19 for her game. After an average opening round, Suzanne received the first ever opening-offer swap, and she accepted the swap and swapped her box for box 3. After another average round, she was offered £7,000, but declined this. She then opened the box she originally had - and it contained £500! This then prompted some interesting banker play, and after revealing 2 more blues, she had a third offer of £26,000, a very high offer at the time for the board!

She declined this and after another all-blue round she was offered £47,000 for her fourth offer, which she dealt. In proveout, she knocked out the £100k but left the £250k, resulting in a hypothetical fifth offer of £59,000. She then luckily hit the £250k and her hypothetical final offer was £26,500 on a £3,000 vs £50,000 board, and the box she swapped for, box 3, contained £3,000!

While I was really happy that Suzanne had become the biggest winner since Gaz, I wondered what on earth she had done that was so special for the banker to basically throw the money at her! I know she swapped away a £500 box, but there was a good chance the new box contained less! I didn't begrudge her the £47k becuase I really liked her, I just felt bad for other players who really had to fight to get half-decent offers at the time!

I do think it marked the start of a more generous banker though - Peter's £25k offer 3 days later was the follow-up to that! :)

This time a year ago it was the turn of Drew in the crazy chair. He played with box 20 after 22 show on the wings. After a good opening round and an offer of £4,800, Drew played on and despite hitting the £35k, his second offer rose to £12,000. He hit another big value in the third round – the £75k – but his offer rose again – this time to £15,001, which Drew no dealt.

After another good round, his offer rose to £25,000 and Drew played on only to hit the £50k and £100k, resulting in his offer reducing to £17,500 for the fifth offer which he dealt. However, Drew was left with a final two of £20,000 and £250,000 and his final offer would’ve been £90,000! Luckily he had £20k in his box – the Rock saved him!

I missed this game, but wasn't really bothered about Drew anyway - he spent most of his time on the wings just looking miserable! The it seems the banker had gone back to being nasty after his unbelievable generosity the previous day - I wouldn't have dealt any of the first 5 offers, and gone on to win £90k! :)

The reason I'm sad I missed it was missing who the newbie was in that game....yes I never saw her debut. :(

8th June 2007 marks a year since Becca took to the pound table with box 5, after 26 shows on the wings. She hit the £100k in her first round meaning that her opening offer wasn’t huge at £1,200. After a better second round, her offer increased considerably to £9,100, but she played on and had another good round, despite hitting the £75k, and was offered £14,500 by the banker, but she no dealt nad played on.

She had a very good fourth round, hitting the £5k as her highest number and as a result was offered £20,000. Becca played on, only to hit the big one in the next box, meaning her offer dropped to £7,000. Becca no dealt, but hit the two biggest remaining values – the £35k and £50k and ended up with a 50p vs £1000 final two and an offer of £250. She declined this, and went on to open her box – which revealed £1,000 for Becca!

Becca's game was nasty - I think the banker simply made her low offers purely becuase of her age, and I think she had little choice but to play to the end, especially after Suzanne's ridiculously inflated offers! And she learned never to let your mum pick a box.....

But joy, it was the first time I saw Melanie, and she did the LTL speech which sounded hilarious. And I didn't even blame her for revealing the biggie - just Becca's mum! And the other half of the legendary double act of the time - Pennie - also had a great debut, with Becca swapping her own 50p box for Pennie's £1k - so a great double whammy!

There have been some great double acts of people who have been on at the same time, the "break a leg, tax free" was another, and so were Ray and Lisa in Sep/Oct, and also Julian and Gus being the comedy duo! :)

Becca was one of my favourite contestants EVER!! It's a real shame she didn't win more, but £1000 is still a lot of money to most people.

Yes, sorry I forgot to add that at the end, the banker offered the swap and Becca took the swap and swapped her box for Box 13 to reveal the £1,000. Her original box contained 50p!

A year ago today was the turn of Peter’s game, and he played with box 13 after 26 shows on box-opening duties. He got off to a bad start, hitting the £20k, £50k and £75k in the first round, and had an opening offer of just £1,900 to reflect the destruction he had caused to his board in the first round. A better second round meant his offer increased to £5,800, but he hit the £100k and his third offer was £2,200.

A good round followed, and his offer picked up again to £10,000. With the big one still left on the board, Peter played on and despite hitting the £35k, was offered £25,000, which he dealt. He then played on to have the perfect proveout round, knocking out the highest amounts in order, and was offered a hypothetical offer of £25 on a £1 vs £50 board and had £1 in his box!

£25,000 was a really good offer and a bit of a no brainer considering the board but I guess the banker seriously respected him like David W or something. The proveout round was also pretty cool.
