I'm surprised no-one's set up a thread for Derrick sooner.

He was a great, if rather surreal, character on the wings and proved to be just as nice and barmy in his game today.

Easily my favourite contestant of 2011 so far.

It's a shame that a lot more people with my/Derriks type of humour cannot get chosen so often as that is more of what is needed now, to keep bums on seats as they say.

At the studios yesterday, regular pilgrim Lynn suggested there had been an article in the local paper regarding some sad news about Derrick, I'll try and see if I can find some more information...

EDIT: Oh, according to dealornodeal.co.uk, the contestant who recently passed away was actually Deano , that is very sad news to hear, my thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
