Matt opens his box - 8 to show 50p

Noel hopes that love weeks luck doesnt affect the games next week.

What a rotton luck game bad luck Chris =/

Killerbee I wouldn't get excited you can bet when it does come to the table again it will be sold for a derisory sum.

Well it's no good it just coming to the table because if it's not won then that will just make for a "bad" (or, in Noel's words, "disastrous") game anyway. So, really, there's no point in it being on the table unless someone is going to win it otherwise it'll just result in another banker victory anyway.

Wish I had been there for chris's game. Honestly one of the nicest guys you could possibly meet and possibly the unluckiest game for him aswell! I'm sure he will fullfill his dream of getting to canada though and good luck to him!

Posted: Fri Feb 15, 2008 18:11
That was such a shame,

Chris was one of my favourites on the wings and i was just gutted for him when all the reds went, when the two big amounts left i was just praying for a small consolation of £5,000, but sadly not,

But £100 is better than 50p and at least you can do something with it! Really Hope Chris fulfills his dream and moves to Canada!

Posted: Fri Feb 15, 2008 19:01
OMG, horrendous bad luck all the way, a very painful game to watch, about the best bit was when Chris opened his box. Noel tried hard, but even he couldnt get any energy or excitement going. Hopefully there were no new viewers watching DOND for the first time, because if there were they will probably never watch again.

I will be glad to see the back of Love Week, all the games were mediocre at best.

:D was just kidding mate. Would like to point out that how Chris came accross in his game was nothing like he was outside of filming. He was a really hyper guy who could literally get drunk on cola!! Just a shame nerves got the better of him and he had some of the worst luck ever! Has been abit of a nasty week!

I agree actually, I think Rich's show was the best of this week as it was a good game, a good player and a good show overall!

Today's game was ok but unfortunately Chris' neves did get the better of him, and the bad luck didn't help. :( The moment when Noel "plugged" Derek into the mains was strangely funny... imagine if someone had just tuned in to see Derek and Reg jumping around with wires attached!! It looked like a mental asylum!

Also the return of the blue chants was ok in this show... as it was only Reg and Derek doing them! I hope the chants don't make a regular re-appearance though. :?

Thta's got to be a contender for most depressing game ever - Chris didn't seem his usual character that he came across as on the wings it must be said, the game was never tense (though an all-blue 4th round would have got him 20k-ish), but not funny either like Siobhan's or Emi's.

He did better than me though, I'd have dealt 63p!

How was Siobhans game funny the picture of the game was she was climbing the ladder then fallling down again

Just plain ugly!

I really wouldn't have wanted to Deal 63p but I might have done anyway. Failing that I'd have swapped for 50p given the chance...

Beryl and her ilk would have got a spectacular OPW out of that, but nobody else could have won more than Chris did!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the worst 8-box board we've seen in the 672 broadcast games so far, no matter how you measure it.

Posted: Fri Feb 15, 2008 21:11
Bad luck Chris. Chris did seem a bit nervous, but then when you have such a bad game like that I guess that doesn't help you settle your nerves. Perhaps he should of come in his condom outfit?

I did find the bit with Derek and Reg rather amusing, but I hope that it's kept to a minimum and not done every show as it might start to get annoying.

It would of also been nice to have seen stronger games through out love week as there were some good characters, we just didn't have the games to match.

Posted: Fri Feb 15, 2008 21:18
I think thats the worst luck I've seen...

Posted: Fri Feb 15, 2008 22:02
It was a very disappointing game indeed.

That's the last two times Box 2 has come to the table and produced a disappointing blue win (Shaun last with the dreaded 1p).

Hard luck Chris - and a special well done to Sat Nav for keeping us up to date on the site :D

Posted: Fri Feb 15, 2008 22:50
That was desperately disappointing. I thought Chris seemed a really genuine guy, and I was looking forward to his game because, on the wings, he seemed like a gambler who could have won big money if the boxes had fallen right. Hope the Canadian dream comes off.

Just watched the show now and as soon as I saw that 8 box board, I went straight for your stats.

That was a truly horrible game luck-wise. After trick or treat week, this seems to have been the banker's revenge - no-one had a board strong enough to get a really huge offer from using the heart.

Looking at the weekly stats - even a £20K win tomorrow wouldn't stop this week being in the top 10 worst total wins ever. We need a win of over £2,954 to stop it being the worst week ever.

Posted: Sat Feb 16, 2008 01:17
That it was the worst ever 8-box board never dawned on me at all - I knew £1 Raj and Philomena had 5k-high boards but they obviously had better blues!

(I actauuly would have quite liked to see the first-ever all-blue squashdown, given that he won a blue a nyway - obviously i'd preferred him to win the 5k.but...)

Posted: Sat Feb 16, 2008 12:30
I cannot remember watching such a sad...disasterous show!
I really felt for Chris, as everyone has said he seemed such a nice guy...the advice he was giving the other contestants was good, he said he was a gambler and I thought if the boxes fall good for him he would have a fantastic show..............but alas not to be

The forum members who have not actually been a contestant on dond I dont think realize the aftermath of the show...........being in contact with the contestants I was with, we all share the same feelings of sleepless nights...wondering 'what if!' The show really affects the emotions not only when appearing, but for ever such a long time after too, dont get me wrong not just the 'what if's' but all the amazing joy too!
Having said all that I would go back like a shot tomorrow if asked!!!!!!!!! :P :notworthy:

Well that was one of the unluckiest games i've seen. Nothing went right for him.

Chris was a nice guy and i hope that he does get to Canada at some point in the future.

[And going on games, i would have to agree that Richie's has been the best so far this week].
