Nikki's game today.

The C4 announcer seems to know who's playing today :suspect:

Anyway Noel says he has the best job in TV land and he talks about Mark's game and how his deal proved to be the right one.

Nikki has box 9.

Noel jokes that Nikki has been to a car boot sale, as she has a lot on her box. She is a revenue inspector from Middlesex! She works on the buses and checks people haven't got stolen tickets... Noel says she's a bit of a spy. :suspect: Nikki says she has sometimes worn a disguise :ponder:

She believes in fate... she shows a pic of her Nan. She unusually got a photo taken of her and her Nan one Christmas and two days later her Nan was killed in a road accident :? She has a montage of people's faces on a piece of card - Noel likes the way she "cut their heads up" She has her sister and sister's boyfriend in the audience, along with her partner Donna.

Her sister's birthday is 9th September - 9/9.

Here we go...

Sounds good so far - notice we actually heard Donna was her partner too - good to hear no cover-ups this time :)

10 - Sue - £250

20 - newbie Chris - £5

Noel asks if Chris has a shower in his room :P Bing talks about her shower again!

Nikki randomly chooses a box with her finger

BING goes the microwave says Noel as Nikki's finger stops on Bing...

21 - Bing - 10p

3 - Dot - £75,000

Noel thinks Dot's dressed ready for a ball, unlike John and Ferno either side of her

19 - Simon - £500

Time for the banker...

Noel asks the banker when the last time it was that he went on a bus and he asks what a bus is! Noel says the banker has a lot of info on Nikki... Noel asks if Nikki always has a good luck poo before each game

She says she doesn't... the banker also knows Nikki has dreams about a certain person... that person being Noel, as the gameboard shows a pink heart around a picture of Noel wearing the lucky hat and Barry White music plays! The banker says that's the result of eating cheese late at night :P

Noel hypes up the £50k as it's the top amount left. Noel says we need to get Nikki to be like MJ and gamble... Nikki tells about how she gambled once and lost

She writes a target in her book and Noel hopes it begins with "N" :P

The banker likes Woodsy because she revealed £250k, and he calls her Miss Swansea.

18 - John - £10

Nikki asks what some contestants on the wings have had in previous games... she goes with Richie as he's due low numbers after having high reds at the start

17 - Richie - £5,000

Nikki is seeing which wing she's swaying towards to find out where the 1p is, and she thinks the East wing has it

13 - Viv - Noel calls a break...

The banker is not just offering swaps as he's worried her good luck poo has worked. She asks her family who say she probably has one more in it... she says if she knocks out the big numbers, it'll go down. Her partner Donna says she should really think about it as the offer could go down but if she takes out 3 low amounts she'll get a big offer.

Nikki NO DEALS as she says she'll only be here once

Nikki says it's good that he stuck. She says she'd love to play on, but she'd love to use the money and she wonders if she's feeling lucky - Noel says whether or not she feels unlucky is VERY important... her family ask her if she'd be disappointed with £1,000 or less... she says "um" and is ready...

£15,800 feels very inflated, but I suppose £8,800 was high for the board so you can't be too sure about it...

Still, a good game Nikki, enjoy the £8,800.

Noel says she was meant to have £8,800, and she spanked the banker :D

Noel looks at the target Nikki wrote and he says he won't read it out!!

How odd.

£35k/£750 producing a £15,800 offer? Highly doubt it. Up, yes, that far no. I'd have bought £13,000.

I think I'd have done what she did.

Nikki looked good and had a great personality but the game left me with an overall feeling of disappointment.

With the 3 big amounts going so soon it was never going to be a huge money game (unless her box contained one of the remaining large reds) and a game chasing smaller amounts never seems so exciting somehow.

Al least she did take a risk at 8 box but with a very generous offer at 5 box I don't think she really considered the board and grabbed the money and ran. I can't help feeling that with 4 reds and 1 blue left on the board it was a great opportunity missed. There was a good chance she might get a better offer and if not still get a reasonable get-out. And as it happened she lost out on a great 2 box offer.

Don't know what game Noel was watching but to say 'she did the right deal at the right time' was utter rubbish. However she did take some risk in the game which is more than many so £8800 was earned and deserved.

That was a good show - nothing hugely special in terms of the game as it was a comparatively low win, but she got a good sum of money out of it considering she'd blown 4 of her Power 5 by the time 5-box came around.

I found the banker going on about having a poo strangely amusing (although rather childish...... :P) as well as the other stuff about Nikki dreaming of Noel. Once again, Noel seems to be taking his role of being neutral to a different level - not by being neutral the whole time as such - but rather swaying from one extreme to the other. To shout "NO" in the proveout when she took out low numbers, but then to claim that she made the right deal at the right time when she could've had nearly double by playing on is a case of being neutral overall but not being neutral consistently. :? The final offer seemed a bit inflated, but as others have pointed out, the 5-box offer was rather generous too, so I suppose the final one would've had a similar generosity.

Posted: Tue Jan 22, 2008 21:58
£15,800 at 2 box was even more generous % wise than the £30K yesterday.

Tough call at 5 box. She obviously wouldn't have been happy winning £3k or less so dealing was the right decision for her.

Posted: Tue Jan 22, 2008 22:32
It was never really going to be a big money game but it was still an enjoyable game. I enjoyed the banter and liked that bit at the first offer about Nikki's dreams and they flashed Noel up on the board with his 'lucky' hat and also the Banker's obsession with poo today was rather strange and random and just how does he know Nikki has one before each show  :D

The deal at 5-box was understandable as the max you could get out of the game was £35,000 and if she had hit that in the next round she wouldn't of got offered £8,800 again and whilst I would of gone on it was a sensible option to deal.

Posted: Tue Jan 22, 2008 23:32
I thought Nikki carried the show well today, and despite losing the top 3 amounts early there was still a good amount to play for, which helped. I was a bit surprised she dealt the 8.8k as the fallbacks didn't seem too bad...mind you this was coming after the 5-box configuration Mark had yesterday.

Either way, it was a good show, Nikki had a good attitude and got a good result. Well done! :D

That was so hilarious even though we never found out what was in the book!

Good game - that seemed to be a set of offers that never moved much, the first 5 were all between £6,800 and £9,999, she seemed to remove the higest and lowest numbers each round, and was left with a lot of middling values at the end. Not sure what I'd have done there - it really depends on whetehr you view £750, 1k and 3k and worthwhile safety nets in comparison to £8,800, and I didn't think the offer would go up much unless you kept the two highest values to 2-box - I certainly thought the last offer was at least 3k more than it should have been, but not as bad as some I've seen.

I didn't like the way the banker was considering giving her swaps due to being disrespectful - there's nothing wrong with being decisive. Dithering and considering for ages means that even if you no-deal, the next offer's going to be rubbish, in that case you can't win either way!

But she kept up my favourite ever position with honour - I hope there's another pretty young lady takes her place tomorrow (I always prefer women to stand there due to Season 1 really, though it's had several male legends like Harry, Derek, Rodney and Daniel) - I don't think they will after replacing Claire with Reg, that was the other part of the wings where two women stood together! :)

Well done Nikki, enjoy the money!

Just flicking through the episode again today quickly and just wondered when Noel became the Banker :?

Just before Mel opened her box before 5-box Noel said "The offer is going to come down, the amount by which it comes down is is now totally dependent upon the sum of money you're about to reveal".

Now whilst Nikki did find £50,000 after turning down £8,800 she followed it with the 1p and £100 from Mel's box. Now obviously if Mel's box had contained the £35,000 or indeed the £15,000 then the offer would of crashed down, but the way Noel built it up was that no matter what was in Mel's box the offer would have to come down.

When the Banker revealed he has stuck at £8,800 Noel gushed "This is amazing, totally amazing" followed by "It's astonishing - he has stuck" and then he said yet again "It was amazing" and then finally with "Is a fabulous offer"

It's not the first time Noel has tried to predict the way the offer will go and that's fair enough we all do it, but surely Noel shouldn't insist that no matter what was in the box the Banker would have to come down.
