Natasha's game today.

Noel talks about Lloyd's game yesterday and says he thought he was stern and was going to go all the way... but he dealt with the top two still on the board. He says a lot of the players have deep secrets :?

Let's hope too much isn't made of her sleeping in incident today.

Oh no, tears before the game has even started - not a good sign.

Natasha has box 21.

Natasha Hall from East London is in fact a banker - she is a personal banking avdisor. She says she is very positive and stern at work - she is very business like. She says some people at work call her "Headmistress" because of her glasses. She shows some pics of her children, her mum and some other members of her family.

She hasn't seen 2 of her children for 4 years. She wants to get money so she can buy a house so she can live with all her children. She has recently got ill and says she wants to use the money before the illness gets worse... she starts crying.

Here we go...

She has been in the UK for a while and got in touch with her aunt only recently and she asks the audience to be her adoptive family, and support her as much as they can

1 - Danny - 10p

5 - Geoff - £1,000

13 - Adie - £35,000

Natasha says it's ok

6 - newbie Woodsy - £20,000

18 - Viv - £50,000 :?

Time for the banker...

Natasha says Viv is a naughty girl for finding the £50k but she says she does have lots of high ones left.

Noel says the banker had a bit of a cold yesterday. The banker has written "unlikely to turn up on time for her own game" for Natasha as she missed the bus on one occasion. Noel says the barman found her asleep in the bar...

Banker's offer

£6,000

Natasha says she fell asleep one day, woke up and the TV said "The banker is waiting for you", so she thinks she'll win £250k

The banker says the last game in which confetti fell was in Kulwant's game, and she won £10... I bet he did a search for "confetti" in the today's show forum on here to find out...

The banker thinks the confetti falling is due to the air conditioning blowing it around

i bet that was the last thing she is thinking!

What a cruel game, after the start i really wanted her to get a massive win! Once the £75k, £100k and the £250k went i was soo gutted for her, and then for once i thought she was going to get a 10k and she didnt even get that! Im just so glad the banker phoned and is going to give her that ticket to Jamaica! Im so happy shes going to see her children!!

You know a game's ugly when the Banker pulls off something like that.

Bet Noel wouldn't have felt so sorry for her if she hadn't a) gone to the end, b) mentioned superstition in any form... although in fairness, she didn't have much choice in the former!

Unlucky game - thought it would have a Philomena outcome but £100 was unfortunate.

And I'm not sure what to make of the 'Jamaica handout'. :?

What unfortunate luck for Natasha today. The luck wasn't on her side and she was denied any life changing money. When it came down to £10,000 and blues I really wanted her to win the £10,000 and it was looking like she might be in with a chance until it was cruelly revealed in the last box.

I admired the way she dealt with losing all the reds and her positive attitude and I thought it was nice of the Banker to give her a plane ticket to Jamaica so she can see her kids. So at least she's going away with something. :D

After another tale of woe, of unpronounceable hideous diseases and far-away loved ones followed by the obligatory tears I was already at the stage of not caring what the hell she won.

And unfortunately her whooping and general attitude was driving me nuts within minutes. Still recording the show does have its advantages and I was able to zap through her irritating babble and watch the rest at 130% speed. I recommend it for shows like this.

I was quite thankful she got a low win actually. I am sick to death of players trotting out sob-stories in an attempt to make people think they are actually more deserving of a big win than anybody else.

Its a gambling show. Its luck. Its based on greed. Money for nothing. Hard-luck tales makes you no more worthy than anyone else. You are still greedy. You are still after money for nothing. For your own ends. Be honest about it please.

And as for a banker working in London being unable to afford a ticket to Jamaica. Puhleeeeese. She must be crying into her caviar every night.

So another show with unremitting misery from start to finish passes into DOND folklore. And good riddance too.

Is it bad of me to admit that I was wanting her to have found the £10,000 earlier so we could have had a first-ever all-blue squashdown?

What a disaster! I really wasn't expecting it to have gone downhill so fast!

But WHAT a thing for the Banker to have done at the end - well done, Natasha! :D

(When she got emotional at the start of the game, all I could think of was how Betty would have been feeling ;) )

A horrible game there - I wouldn't normally mind the crying at the start but I'm bored of them crying. But after a month of people like Ian - "My parents..." *cries* "... are great" when presumably they were still alive (:?), it's got a bit same-y when people cry and it sort of doesn't mean much. :?

The banker offering the flight to Jamaica was nice but weird - surely the banker is supposed to be mean?! It was ok during the Star week, but we've had him give out money after Helen B's game, double Glen's winnings (only to £200 though) and give a plane ticket to Natasha. Is it a case now that they're trying to encourage people to play to the end by offering gifts if things go wrong? Maybe after things such as Toni's sister (?) saying "But she's got £26,000!!!" they've realised Noel's guilt trips have lost their effect and they're looking for other ways to encourage people to play to the end.

Not that Natasha had much choice today, I think the only person to have got more money than £100 out of this game would've been "£1k deal with 7 blues and £100k" Michael - who'd probably have dealt the fourth offer of £450! :P

If you had watched the show, you would have heard her say she was a customer advisor i.e she probably worked in a high street bank rather than being the stock and shares type.

I did see that bit and you don't know whether she works in a high street bank or a' stocks and shares' bank any more than I do. She was described as a banker. No mention of high street bank.

Instead of spending 2 weeks in a hotel in Bristol playing DOND she should have got on a plane and flew to Jamaica to visit her kids who she hasn't seen for 4 years.

Posted: Sat Jan 12, 2008 19:48
But customer advisors don't tend to be in such a bank, or regardless of this probably aren't the highest earners anyway.

Meh, who are we to judge? Emotional player has spectacular crash-and-burn game, move on.

I hope Channel 4 don't go bust, because they must be spending a fortune on Kleenex the way DOND has been recently. Enough with the sob stories!!!

Anyway,I went off Natasha when she missed the bus. A chance to win 250k and you can't even wake up in time?

And do we think that today Noel wore one of his worst outfits ever???

Posted: Sat Jan 12, 2008 22:00
Perhaps the new sponsor of the show should be Kleenex :)

But this was another game I didn't really get into and the fact that the the game started off badly and then just continued to go further downhill hardly helped matters. Not the fault of Natasha by any means but I just couldn't feel any excitement.

It was also interesting that they used that extra heartbeat effect before the revealing of the £10,000. There have been other games recently that they should of added that effect too but they didn't, and whilst it usually helps add tension to the game I didn't really feel it did today.

That extra gift at the end was a nice touch but I couldn't help feel that it's unfair to treat some players better than others. What about Katie last week who won 1p? Don't get me wrong i'm happy for Natasha that she got the ticket but I just feel that it's unfair that they reward some people and not others.

I don't think she really did anything wrong apart from get emotional at the start - once the game got going I thought she took her misfortune very well and accepted the fact that the big money just wasn';t there. I just always think they mention things like that it always seems inevitable they'll have a bad game, but at least there were no life-enhancing offers squandered, like in some cases.

I don't think she thought she had a divine right to win a alrge amount at all, she never asked for the flight to Jamaica did she?

As as for the greed thing, well surely everyone wants to win a large amount, it's human nature. In that case, everyone deserves to win 1p becuase it's more than they came with. You can't tell me any of the 600-odd contestants who've been on didn't want to win any money?

And I thought the missing the bus thing was hilarious! :)

Maybe that was the bad luck he was wearing :P Natasha was very quiet I didn't hear her say anything during the first half of her duration but the missing the bus and saying sorry hilarious :P

I am unable to comment on the show... as I haven't seen it yet! That is what TV on demand is for. But the amount of shortened or Nick Names on DoND at the moment is silly. I prefer it with proper names. In like the whole of 2005 I think we only had like one Nick name and that was Oli!

Natasha was a nice lady who deserved to get a lot more money with a dream like that. Well done to her for playing the game the way she did.
