Deano's game today.

Noel welcomes us to a new week in the Dream Factory, and he talks about Katie being the 12th member of the 1p club, and tells everyone to pick themselves up and to remember that today is the anniversary of Laura winning the £250,000....

Certainly is basicasic... already we're having Wakeyism forced upon the game.

Deano has box 21 today. Deano tells Noel that Deano is just a nickname that his mates gave him... He is unemployed at the moment, and tells Noel about his spinal problem which has affected him for a few years now... Deano is hoping to set up his own business and hopes for a nice win to help set him up... He has his mum in the audience for support today, and Deano hopes to win enough to help her out as well, as she has helped him so much with his back problems...

Here we go....

It wasn't as bad as some from last month... at least he didn't cry and make the atmosphere totally solemn.

9 - £20,000 Namfon

That's not ideal says Deano, but it's not too bad...

The banker says that the dark day has been lightened by Deano, and he reckons that he is THE party animal, and he has a card for Deano... It's an unhappy birthday card, and there is a poem about Laura and Katie inside.

Banker offers

£8,500

Deano says it's a good offer and the money would make a big difference...

Deano says

NO DEAL

Laura and Katie - the extremes of No Dealing! Remember THAT!

(Although I'd have had a crash in Katie's game too... and would have turned down Laura's £45,000 I think, though I'd have taken her £19,999...)

Deano says he needs pepping up and goes to Brian

7 - 10p Brian

20 - £100 Danny

Deano says he feels like a bit of a dance, and Noel asks what sort of dance? Jive, break :P

He then calls a break

I can't make up my mind if I like Deano's attitude or not. He seems quite arrogant. Maybe that's why they chose him to do battle with the banker on Laura Day...

Does Noel know he's going too far?

As for the next £250,000 winner, it'll come with the next Wakeyist to bring it to the table!

Next round

6 - £1 Mark S

10 - £50,000 Glenis

Is Deano all show no go?

Well what's the point of waiting all that time for £5 or £10? :P

Although I'd certainly have No Dealed that as the risk was too low for the reward by some distance. There's a few hundred quid in this even if it goes very Pete Tong.

There's still 22 values in 22 boxes, it's just that in January 2007 everyone seemed to pick them in a favourable order...

In the end, he obviously made a bad deal!

Posted: Mon Jan 07, 2008 18:45
Quite what Deano's congenital back problem, various operations plus father's death had to do with the show I can't quite fathom but having got us off to a miserable start I was hoping the actual game would brighten things up a bit.

Alas the depression continued and we got very little in the way of entertainment or excitement. Just steady good old bad luck from start to finish and nothing really tangible worth dealing. Having born all that misfortune the final insult was revealing the £3000 having dealt for £1400.

Deano himself wasn't particularly charismatic but full credit to him for taking adversity so well and being gracious enough to realise that £1400 is still a decent sum of money in anybody's book.

Posted: Mon Jan 07, 2008 19:06
I wasn't too sure what to make of Deano, but one thing is for sure, and that's that he had a terrible game. It was just a slow trainwreck like Glen's from last week, and they're always the worst. At least a mid-game or late-game crash is more memorable, but when the big numbers just go one in each round, it's a bit standard and unfortunately nowt special. It was a shame the game didn't pick up,and to make matters worse, he had £3k in his box after dealing £1,400.

OPWs and even TPWs seem to be a rare thing these days. Still, at least Deano got a meaningful sum of money from it, so well done to him for salvaging something from it.

Posted: Mon Jan 07, 2008 20:30
Really not was needed after the 1p win on Saturday, but at least it was a usable sum, and not too painful as the highest he got offered at a dealable point was £3,001, at least he didn't lose any life-enhancing money. You just knew the 3k was in the box after the deal though.

It was one big hit every round really - 100k in round 1, 35k in round 2, 250k in round 3 (the bit with Mark was the highlight of the show), 50k in round 4 and 75k in round 5 (one of these days, some will leave Pat till the edn and she'll have the 1p).

Was I also the only one who was willing Laura to have the 250k given the anniversary - providing she was left till the end of picked after a deal? :)

Not the aniversary we wanted guys I'm so dissapointed now we wait and wait. 2005 and 2006 was better than these years.

Pat oh yes Pat she is evil woman ruined Ollys game, Ians game, Sandras game, Hayleys game, Stus game, Clives game and Deanos game. I would'nt be suprised if on her boxes theres 666 written in biro.

Deano was very posh in his game I thought he would have that heavy northener cockney tone to his voice. He was like a ginger... sorry ''strawberry blond'' victoria beckham.

How can you say she is evil?

She does not control what she has in her boxes!

Was Michaela evil for having £250k 4 times in a row? No.
Was Stevie evil for having big numbers? No.
Was Jean evil for having big numbers? No.
Was Aileen evil for having big numbers? No.
Was Joey evil for having big numbers? No.

They are not evil for having big numbers Pat is evil for revealing big numbers at innappropiate times. She is evil for revealing numbers at wrong stages there is my point.

I admit that i wasn't the greatest fan of Deano but he deserved a better game than he had.

Then again, £1,400 is a nice amount of money.

And jiveclive, shut up about Pat and high numbers, its not her fault that she has them or is chosen to open her box at a bad time..

jiveclive. you obviously don't understand how the game works. Let me explain. Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin.

Each player picks a number AT RANDOM before the game begins. Each number signifies a box, which contains a sum of money. ONLY the independent adjudicator knows how much money is in each box.

A player is then chosen. The player does not know how much money is in each box.

The player then picks, AT RANDOM, individual players to open their boxes. Some will have high amounts, some low. After each sequence of box openings, the banker will make an offer, based upon the money remaining on the board. The player will then decide whether to accept the offer.

Do you follow? It is all entirely RANDOM, therefore to suggest that one player is evil because the player picks them, AT RANDOM, and reveals a high amount which that individual earlier picked, AT RANDOM, is completely absurd and indicates that you don't understand the basic premise of the game- Chance.

Apologies if I have bored other posters who understand DOND, but I can only assume from JC's posts about Pat that he doesn't.

I'm sorry she is not evil she is just caring and nice but there are my favoruite contestants who I like and she justs well tears their game apart. I think she is funny before she opens her boxes. When her game comes I will watch it and wish her the best.

I DO understand dond 22 boxes picked at random playing for 250,000 bla bla bla :D

Blimey, this site seems to have acquired even more nutters than when I was on here last...

First show for me for a while - the wings seem to be full of Northern men and younger women. It's a bit like watching Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee all over again.

Deano seemed a reasonable sort of chap who didn't really get the chance for a shot at the big money but took it all in good grace nevertheless.

You mean to tell me Cookie that while I've been watching bargain hunter she revealed the 75k and it's not her fault :?

Whose Birthday was it anyway?

Cookie, I agree - this game is one of mere luck/chance and is totally Random. It's purely Deano's fault for "ruining" his game.
As for the offers: Too high, once again. And Noel seems to have gone mad.

Welldone Deano on £1,400

So one year since Laura won the £250k and I was hoping for a nice rememroble game to mark the occasion...oh well.

Deano was nice enough but the game itself was just plauged with bad luck and to be honest thinking back to monday now i'm actually struggling to remember the game itself.
