Today is the last of the Santa vs Scrooge specials.

It's Stephen's game today.

Noel talks about yesterday's emotional game with Orry and how he was SO close to winning £100k, but went with his beliefs and swapped... but only won £1 although he did get an extra £1,000 from the Christmas Turkey called Eamonn.... he says that the game lingers on and we feel unhappy today... but we will pick ourselves up for today's game... Noel says Orry is one of the most charasmatic players we've ever had. He says it's a new day and a new game.

Where was the BT sponsorship at the start? :? Did I miss it, or have they pulled out now?

Stephen has box 16 today for his game...

His wife Susan is in the audience for his game. Noel asks Susan what it's like to be married to a Womble :-D He is a taxi driver and enjoys the job greatly. He shows some pics of him with his wife on honeymoon in 1973. He has a dream to go and see the polar bears at the North Pole  Dream offer coming up?! He'd also like to go to Monkeyworld down in Dorset

Stephen says he's choosing eccentric people first

22 - Pat - £5,000

3 - Natasha - £250,000  :(

Huge groans for that one - Stephen says "Monkey World here I come" :-D

6 - Stu - £50,000 :?

More groans... Noel says it's not good so far... Stephen shouts that he "needs a blue"...

17 - Katie - £5 :D

Clive wishes everyone a Happy Christmas :D

18 - Clive - £75,000  :?

Noel says what a horrific start

Time for the banker...

Stephen says he has the £100k, but Noel says it'd be extraordinary if it came to the table 2 days in a row, but he admits stranger things have happened... Noel asks Clive if he can answer the phone and Clive mentions about how the banker is a woman - and Noel says "Hello darling" to the banker... :-D The banker danced until dawn after Orry's game :? He says he turned Miss Orry into Misery :P The banker says Stephen is one of the most charasmatic contestants ever... then realises he's reading Orry's file - and on Stephen's file, it just says "Male, 55 years old" The banker likes Stephen because he took out three of the Power 5 in the opening round

Stephen's drawn to MJ and she says that's nice...

4 - MJ - 1p :D

HUGE cheers and whooping greet that one... :D Stephen hypes everyone up by saying we will now destroy the Banker's Power 5. He asks Glen aka the Artful Dodger if he's picked any pockets this morning and he says he hasn't.

19 - Glen - £1,000

Stephen says it's nearly a blue. He says his throat is drying up and he needs a whisky... Noel calls a break

Either their contract has ended with the show (since Friday was technically the last proper working day before Christmas for many shows) or they have ceased the sponsorship for Christmas only. Who Wants to be a Millionaire? in the past didn't have their respected sponsors being used over Christmas. Instead, ITV used Rennie as a main sponsor for all festive programming.

We're back and Noel says that when Stephen was selected to play, he was absolutely stunned, and probably wishes he can start again now, due to his horrendous start

Mark says Stephen is very welcoming

21 - Mark - 10p

Noel helps Stephen count to 3

20 - Danny - £100,000 :(

On a side note, one of the contestants looks like Reg Holdsworth from Coronation Street :P Not sure of their name - is it the newbie?

Stephen says he's desperate for a red and quickly changes it and says he wants a blue :P

15 - Brian - £500

Stephen chooses Hayley... but it's banker time!

1 - Glenis - £1 :-D

Stephen says he has one of his Power 5 left, and the banker has none of his...

9 - Shaun - £15,000 :?

Oh and Shaun is the Reg lookalike :P :P

Stephen says he didn't want to take out £15k and Noel says he's damaged his backups :(

Noel says Stephen doesn't know what's going on, so he'll call a break to explain it to Stephen

It's rather similar to ian's game last week but I'm more into this.

6K or so if he hits a blue.

hmm well santa could bail him out later if it becomes a box game, lets really hope for that. I'm not in the mood for another scrooge.

We're back

Noel thinks Stephen is pretending to be silly to get on the banker's side... the banker's butler blushed Stephen's cheeks and cleaned his forehead of the 3 during the break! :-D

If this were a regular game, I would seriously consider dealing £5K.

Posted: Sat Dec 22, 2007 19:33
The banker doesn't want Stephen to get to 5-box because he has a higher chance of picking Santa than Scrooge, because there's 1 Scrooge left and more Santas...

Hayley says she doesn't think Stephen could cope with getting a Scrooge and she doesn't want to see him go home with a blue, and Stephen agrees...

The banker phones and tells Stephen to listen to Hayley as she is on fire today. He says since Hayley put her Christmas bonnet on, her head filled with intelligence and she's the smartest person in the room, and he says to Stephen that he should follow Hayley's advice. His wife says he's not having much luck...

5 - Claire - £20,000 :(

Noel says we didn't want to lose that. Stephen says "Don't feel down for me - I'm happy to be here, playing the game" and everyone applauds :-D He says he's focussing on Namfon...

8 - Namfon - £100 :D

Stephen says "Oh yes!! That's what we wanted!!".

2 - newbie Sue - £750 :-D

Stephen jumps around screaming

There are 3 doors left - 2 Santas and 1 Scrooge. Noel says it's vital that he finds one of the 2 Santas.

Noel reveals the remaining doors which have SANTA and SCROOGE

Where has Hayley the mathematician come from?

Posted: Sat Dec 22, 2007 19:38
Stephen says it's just under the average; but he still has £35k there

Hayley says she thinks there's one more round as there are 4 disposal values. She thinks it's a really good offer, as often he gives 50% of the average, and this is a good offer as it's higher than that and Noel agrees. He says it's good because Stephen chose SANTA and now gets an offer after every round. Stephen says he took a gamble with the last no deal and it paid off. He isn't going to ask Susan what he thinks, as he says it's totally down to him.

Noel calls Jules a super psychic and asks what she has in her box - she says she thinks it's a blue :-D

The other box - box 13 - Jules - £50

Banker phones

Two acts of generosity says Noel

As the banker won't see everyone until New Year's Eve, he wishes them ALL a Merry Christmas :-D

Because Hayley has flowered as a maths genius, she can have a delve into the Turkey - Hayley says the banker is a nice man :-D Eamonn clucks and she is rewarded with £500 :-D Hayley asks Noel to thank the banker for her. Stephen's wife says she's happy and Stephen is happy too with his £6k + £1k from the Turkey.

Noel talks about the Star shows next week - people in the chair will be people nominated by us with amazing stories to tell and the people opening the boxes will be people relevant to the player in the chair. He says they'll be sensational shows and he'll see us next week.

The camera cuts back to the studio and shows all the contestants singing a Christmas carol as the credits roll :-D

Fair enough. Just seems odd when we've seen 9/10K offered on blue vs 35K before.

then again Annie would have been offered 10K with £50, 3K and 50K in the 3 box thing.

Hayley has presumably been edited to destruction. It's happened before with Georgina, and that was in the most Wakeyistic period in the show's history...

Can't blame Stephen for taking that offer, although with the £1,000 guaranteed I don't think I would have done myself. Orry's game - not even the £1 win, but the half-the-mean offer at the showdown - would have probably influenced me though. No shame in taking an offer that close to the mean in a one-box game, even in one-box-to-open mode. Put it this way, with three to open, it would have been borderline idiocy to turn down £6k on that board IMO...

I think he's the floor manager (or one of them) - Greg perhaps? He was the one who was leading them in song at the end of the Christmas shows last year. Well, this is the last we'll see of the 22 until New Year's Eve. :( It looks as though (from the trailer after the show) that the Star shows next week won't have any Christmas decorations or anything... so that's Christmas over on DOND really.... on the 22nd. :? Oh well.

Anyway, Stephen was a great bloke and whilst he was legendary in his game, he didn't do much on the wings (bad editing again?). And when did Hayley suddenly become a mathematician? Jules being a psychic (is that just something she does every Saturday?) and Stephen giving out mathematical advice? When? But it was a good show - one of the best of recent times perhaps - well done and enjoy the money, Stephen! :-D

I am sure there are decorations on the xmas star shows just not ribbons on the boxes.

Well done on the 6K Stephen, was never a mega money game but I am glad he got something out of it :-D he reminds me of Christopher Biggins when he had that beard lol.

I think it's got to be said, that THAT was the best Saturday show since at least Steff's game!

It didn't take long to get into it, and bearing in mind I'm not a Strictly fan, I was going to end up watching this anyway.

Shame it wasn't an outright win, but it was definitely a feel-good game! :D

And Hayley earning £500 for being Mathematician of the Week ain't too shabby either!!! :-D

Wrong. The decorations are still there in regards to the four Christmas trees and both wings keeping their greenish decorations.

He was one of the men wandering out of sight with the big broom-esque mike...I recognised him straightaway!!!

And just to clarify on what SrWilson said - for the Christmas Star shows, the snow infront of the board wasn't there, nor was a ribbon on each of the boxes.

What you do get (nothing spoiling, unless you're an anorak!!!) is the decor still running along the wings, and the trees. Then in the background of the board, you've got the Christmas Star spinning around slowly.

As for the boxes, they are normal red, but have the Christmas Star on the front of the box around one of the corners.

I promise you, emotional stories you might not be as eager to see, but you will DEFINITELY like Christmas Eve's show; trust me on this, we will be seeing fan clubs for some of the F & F on the wings too!!! :D

Just don't do what Maud will probably do when you see yours truly on the TV in the front row...point at the telly and start laughing madly, yelling "IT'S DIVVY!!!"

It was odd today...as I waited for today's episode, I was actually intrigued and excited as to what could happen. During the game I was actually enjoying it rather than sitting back, sighing and remembering the days when the wins were big. I was enjoying Stephen, I was enjoying the contestants...and while he kept taking out big numbers I was still enjoying the game rather than just expecting all the reds to go or for him to Deal at offer 3 or something and then have £35k in his box.

I feel like Scrooge at the end of A Christmas Carol, after his visit from the ghosts and he's changed his ways. Just a few days ago I thought that was it, the DOND magic had gone forever, but now...yeah, I DO like it, I DO want to see Clive's game, and Hayley's, and while there may not be many other characters, well, I thought that about Stephen and he turned out to be entertaining beyond belief today! So he could have had a couple of grand more, but £6,000 (plus the £1,000 bonus!) is still a good sum and I hope has a very fantastic Christmas with it. I never thought I'd say this but I am really going to miss the current 22, and when they return at the very end of the year it's gonna be good to see them again!

To him, all the rest of the East and West Wing past, present and future, to everyone on this forum and to anyone else I've missed, I wish everyone an absolutely fantastic Christmas season. May your days be merry and bright, and I hope 2008 is the best year of your lives! Have a great one!! :smt114

what does the above mean?????

As regards to the maths bit i kept my mouth shut until todays game with the maths and as Noel made me out to be quite thick and dizzy (a lot of which has been edited) i think it shocked the banked... hence the hand up the turkeys arse!!

Also, Stephen knew i knew about averages etc being my neighbour and wispering to him etc!!

Anyway well done Stephen, and thanks for my 500 quid!!

I think it surprised us a bit as we hadn't heard any mathematical analysis from you Hayley before and were wondering if it had been edited out the previous shows.

Anyone who comes on the show with a knowledge of the theory of the game is a welcome addition in my opinion.

KP basically meant that the editing of the shows has made you stand out lot compared to the other people on the wings...and so sudden too because before today we never saw this mathematical side to you, and then of course before the Santa vs Scrooge shows, we hardly saw much of you on the wings at all!!!

And then KP used Georgina as an example of a past player who we saw a lot of on the wings compared to everybody else, but only after a few games in.

Thank you boys, but as i said really wasn't due to bad editing just didn't give my mathematical views until today, i also think when your game is due to be on they pan the camera to you more so when its your game the public recognise you more... and as you know i've done 22 shows now so one of the oldest now. Its a shame they have cutted a lot of mine and noels banter out, but a lot of it was very tongue in cheek and so i think they wasn't allowed to air a lot... as when filming Noel had a dig at me in nearly every show!!

I was surprised to see Stephen play today actaully (or the Christopher Biggins lookalike, not so much today though). And it was obvious he was too.

It wasn't a big money game but to my surprise Stephen was actually quite good fun, and I mean that in a nice way as to be honest I hadn't heard much from him on the wings.

So well done Stephen on your win.

Nice to hear from you Hayley. I'm greatly reassured as I was really worried that they were editing your mathematical advice and keeping the highly biased (in my opinion) 'positivity' nonsense in - that was certainly the case when Georgina was on the wings!!

I think he's the floor manager (or one of them) - Greg perhaps?

Looked more like Chivers to me, but I may be wrong...

The choir boy wasn't greg and i had never seen him before don't think he was one of the crew.. think he was actually from a choir or something!

A good, cheerful game to liven things up after Friday's heartbreaker. It was probably the fact that it was never a tense game with all the power 5 except 35k going early that made Stephen's full personality shine through, and he was an absolute hoot.

Not sure what I'd do with one box to pick from 5 when it becomes a complete one-box game as that one did. It's basically gambling an 80% chance to get a couple of grand more, or a 20% of the game being over. A bit like Ned got offered virtually the mean in the same situation, I thought he did exactly the right thing by dealing, but turned out to have the one big red in his box, at least that didn't happen to Stephen.

I am really enjoying it again, and there are several games I'm looking forweard to in the new year, though I hope they keep Hayley a bit longer due to her advice giving coming to light - nobody's really done that sicne Ed!

And of course it'll be good to see what the likes of Mark, MJ, Shaun, Nikki, Claire and Sue look like normally! :)

Didn't see this game. Wasn't at home between 1.15-10.15 due to work.

I would normally of taped the show but Strictly Come Dancing took priority this week.

Sounds a decent enough game, well done Stephen!!

Hiya Patricia, I'm happy to help out

Unfortunately I do not have your game taped, so the pictures may not be like the Stephen ones, However if you still want pictures, I can get them from I love deal or no deal website? Is that Okay?

I always thought Stephen looked like christopher biggins aka king of the jungle

P.S Quite ironic how Orry swapped with Danny for the 100k but only got a quid then this game he has the 100k

Thank you for your comments on my DOND game.
After only 15 shows on the West wing I was taken completely by suprise to be chosen for the walk of wealth to the crazy chair and then to get a first offer of £900 that really just took away my powers of concentration.
After that shakey start I did enjoy the whole DOND experience. To lose so many big reds in the first round it was never going to be a big money game.
At eight box and an offer of £5K I must admit that I was tempted to deal, but I didn't. I wasn't aiming for the £35K that was still there, I wanted to get to the Santa or Scrooge advent calendar, hopefully with the £35K still intact, which I did.
At five box an offer of £6K and £1K out of the turkeys bum it wasn't a difficult decision to deal !
So to summarise. I didn't win a life changing amount of money, but £7k is very useful and has been shared with my wife Susan( of course ) and my son Adam. I had a fantastic time and met some truly wonderful people, you all know who i'm referring to ! I hope that somewhere in the show I made a few people smile
