Rob says he thought the banker would offer a little more so that he would have a quandary. Rob reveals that number 9 actually has no significance whatsoever! Noel says he won the psychological war, but has he won the financial war.

Rob says

NO DEAL

Rob says even though number 9 itself isn’t of any significance the box number 9 is significant because it’s the box he has played with throughout.

Rob says

NO SWAP

No-one else has taken out all of the Power 5 in the first seven boxes, have they?

And that has to be one of the all-time turnarounds, even with the final gamble failing to pay off... 8)

On an 11-box board with £20k as the highest amount?

Don't think so, somehow... :smt018 :eyes: ;)

I think Adie in November 2008 did that in 7 boxes too (she was the one who got an offer of minus £500!)

To walk away from a game like that with £10k is no mean feat!

It's weird that the final offer was only £11,000. Rob says he thought it should've been £12,600, which wouldn't have been out of the question as the banker did sometimes make above-the-mean offers back then. I was expecting it to be £12,500, as the banker often goes straight down the middle on close red-finishes.

I loved that bit.

What is certainly odd is where you'd expect the banker to maybe low-ball the offer (on an all-or-peanuts finish like Audrey's) he goes close to the mean, then here where you'd expect him to offer the mean, he goes really low.

Maybe here they just wanted to ensure a box-opening as even the lower amount was still an excellent result from what happened earlier.
