Hope no one minds me doing a commentary for this game, but it's one of my favourite contestants ever!

Andy K's a heritage lottery development officer (or at least was in 2005). Yesterday Raj won 10p, and Andy's "so angry" that he's going to give The Banker a lesson today. Here we go, with...

15 (Lee) *£250,000*

"FIVE!" shouts Andy and Noel is thrown. "...I...I'm still recovering from that!"

5 (Elaine): £50

"Come on!!" Andy's cool, calm and not letting anything faze him.

12 (James): £1,000.

14 (Jo): £5

The way he's playing this is bizarre but brilliantly unique. Sitting there barely moving, just calling out the number and name.

8 (Andy B - Newbie): £250

After an awful start (first ever game where the £250k goes in the first box) things have recovered for the first offer. Banker time...

"The offer...is HIGH. And you've got to admit that it's a good offer"

OFFER 1: £5,000 :suspect:

Andy: "He could have pushed six. But it's good. You gonna ask me the question then?"

"You do realise I'm meant to be on your side?" says a slightly miffed Noel. "We have to find the balance between confidence and foolish bravado. I never ever want us on this show to treat money as a flippant, take it or leave it commodity."

But of course, "unemotionally" it's a No Deal.

16 (Sara): £100. Andy nods, stone-faced. "Karen, 11"

11 (Karen): £5,000. "Fine, absolutely fine".

John with 17 is after the break!

Welcome back. "A very very different show. It's Andy's show and he can do what he wants" says Noel, adding that he wants to "beat the banker and eat the Banker". Then calls Andy "arrogant"!

17 (John): £3,000! Andy raises his arms in the air, then it's back to icy stillness.

"We have not been in this space before at the second offer" And now Andy's grinning.

OFFER 2: £10,000

The biggest second offer ever up to that point. "Have you come with an exit point?" says Noel? "No" says Andy, saying he bases it on the board.

No Deal! Or as Andy says, "No. Deal"!

6 (Mary-Ann): £15,000. "Fine!" says Andy, although still looks a little annoyed. "Nine!"

9 (Audrey): 10p! Andy raises his arms although his face remains moody.

21 (Rob): £20,000, but "It's low!" says Noel. Andy points at his eyes, points at the board and says "Look! Look!".

It's such an odd atmosphere that none of the players even are saying anything, and Andy isn't saying much, so Noel is filling like mad here.

"I know what I'd offer" says Andy. "I would offer me, right now, nine grand". Down? Why? "To press me forward".

"Why would he want you to carry on when he wants to buy the box for as little money as possible?" says a confused Noel. "Because we've locked horns" simply replies Andy.

"You might just have made your first mistake and read it wrong"

OFFER 3: £15,000

Way more than his prediction.

"I'll tell you what I'm going to do, Noel. If the Banker rings back with an offer of £25,000, I will walk out".

The Banker rings back!! Surely not...

"Give the phone to Andy!" says The Banker. Andy answers it.

"Noel, THAT was his first mistake" says Andy. "He says No Deal". And suddenly everyone's laughing. Almost in relief that the tension is (briefly) broken.

Noel reminds Andy that Raj went with 10p. £15,000 is a lot of money. "Don't let this get so personal that you don't consider what you'd do with £15,000".

"No Deal" says Andy straight away at the question!

1 (Jeff): £500!
19: (Irene) £50,000! "AAAHHHH!" screams Noel. Andy remains unfazed.

"Who wants to do it?" challenges Andy. Eddie puts himself forward...

...after the break! Which Noel "really needs"!

He truly is the first ever Marmite character

Noel really doesn't know what to do with this guy, he (Andy) is just sitting there so nonchalantly

I can see why some people didn't like him due to this arrogance and aggressiveness

Does anyone know when the players started saying "I'm ready for the question"? Even as late as this it's still Noel asking them when he feels.

Part 3 begins...

10 (Eddie): £10,000! "Te...aaggh!" says Noel. "YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!" screams Andy, the first major emotion we've had all show!

OFFER 4: £9,000

The Banker's given his prediction...but it's the one from round 2, not round 3.

Andy calls it "insulting" which in today's world of "Thank you Mr Banker" is incredible. No Deal!

7 (Chris): £1! Andy's still unfazed.

18 (Jason): 1p!! He's happier now...

3 (Hayley): £75,000! "GUYS, LOOK AT THE BOARD! LOOK AT THE BOARD!!" screams Andy at the audience!!

So our final five:

50p
£10
£750
£35,000
£100,000

Random observation: When Andy drank from the mug, you could see the name of the manufacturer on the bottom: Ethos (http://www.ethoshousewares.com/)

So now we know who makes (or made) the DoND mugs. :P

OFFER 5: £20,000

"I tell you, Raj would have liked £20,000 yesterday" says Noel, and, amazingly, tells Andy to "park his ego".

"There was only one choice at this stage" says Andy. "DEAL!"

Suddenly it's a different Andy. He's grinning. Laughing. And we haven't even started the proveout yet...

20 (Kai): £100,000! A much happier Andy raises his arms!

"Are you going to take out the £35,000!" "THAT'S AT NUMBER FOUR!"

4 (Helen): £35,000! And Andy runs around the studio, high-fiving all 22 players and laughing his head off!

An all-blue final three, so an OPW whatever:

13 (Rita): 50p. "It's like a disappointment!" jokes Andy.

£10 or £750?

OFFER 6: £300

22 (Andy): £750 in his box!

2: (Tina): £10

It's difficult to imagine £20,000 being at the lower end of what the banker can offer on this board - it's 74% of the mean! The offer would probably be about £13k these days...

Saw this today and it made me smile. It's still difficult to try and judge whether the players make good decisions because it's tough not to make decisions based on the type of offers players would get these days.

£20k was a massive offer but then in the early days £100k/blue might be around the £40k mark.

I noticed that in some of the other repeats on Challenge, too. Amusing that this bit of product placement wasn't stopped. ;)

A perfect anecdote to the game aired on Channel 4 today, or at least the remarkable intervention at 17-box was. I never ever on this forum want to see people forget that promise he made in 2005, and spectacularly broke in 2006, 2007, 2008...

Deal-Eye would've gone (just) at £15k at 11-box... (6-3 to the player currently)

I swear this episode has almost deliberately remained obscure. It's just about the only game from 2005-6 which isn't and has never been accounted for online, save for a small clip from the official 'Tube channel which was uploaded a decade ago. The only image from the game that circulated was off a primitive webcam, a right count-the-pixels job.

What gives? It's surely the last 'mystery' left for me that's every bit a mystery now as it was in 2006. 12 year old me wanted to see the game and now this almost 24 year old still wants to see the game.

Second to this is 'all red 8-box' Jame's game from very early 2012 and that has less chance of turning up as it was long after people stopped recording and keeping TV shows routinely, choosing to rely on online catch-up services like, in this case, 4oD.
