Jennifer opens her Box 9 and reveals £750 :D

The remaining Box 20 with Rita contained £250,000

Noel reveals Jennifer's target in the book as £50,000. :o :D

You have to say turning down her 5 box offer was a huge gamble but it was rewarded by the kind of final offer that hasn't been matched in generosity on a high risk board often in the subsequent 6 years .

Coolness personified.

Not only was it a huge gamble, it's one she didn't mean to take - she would say later that she meant to take £52,000. If she'd left any other box - especially if it were a blue - I reckon the history of DoND would have been drastically different. To see a contestant who, by her accounts, was not exactly wealthy, losing £51,250 through an accidental No Deal, would surely have shaken Noel to the point that he'd have never allowed himself to manipulate contestants into taking uncomfortable risks. At least I think so.

Thanks KP - don't think I've ever read that article (or if I have, I'd forgotten about it)

There is also a bit on the official website about her meaning to deal at £52,000 as well.

Well, even if she had dealt at £52k, she'd have still become the biggest winner.

That accidental No Deal, though, resulted in her holding that record for over a year - until a certain 24-year-old lady from South Wales came along... ;) ;)

It also led to two other records, both of which she still holds - the biggest deal, and the biggest margin of victory over the Banker (£119,250).

And it's difficult to see these records being broken - although, of course, Kerry-Anne came close on 24 May this year... ;)

I doubt the biggest ever victory one will ever be broken as there is no way there'd be a £120k+ offer with a blue or low red on the table anymore

Unless the banker offers a player above the mean on a £250k/low red finish but what's the likelihood of that happening?

:D

Just finished watching another repeat of this game. First time I've seen it too. Even though I knew what happened, that was still extraordinary to see. Must have been very tense in the studio at the time.

Will anyone every beat her record?

Well 2 people could have broken it if they hadn't been obsessed with winning the QM and turning down offers above the average.

Well, Kerry-Anne certainly would have, but Rich would have only won by 110k, so less than Jennifer.

(I was referring to the biggest OPW, not the biggest deal BTW; should've made that clearer. )
