Loads of little things look so different. No coloured boxes, no catchphrases, less pilgirims in the audience (and sitting on chairs rather than the long benches they have now)

Watching the afternoon repeat on +1 - first use of Noel using the c-word (courage) to praise a player. Also a reference at 2-box to "bravery has been rewarded". Also, when Noel doesn't encourage a No Deal at two-box, she Deals.

I didn't notice any of this before. I do now.

This was still the record for a single appearance on a daytime game show until, I think, the Christmas Star episodes. Edit: no it wasn't, For The Rest Of Your Life would have topped it and that was a few months before the Christmas Star games. Though those weren't lump sums.

The single-appearance record is now held by Kevin from the live shows (he played on Sunday, but the game did still air in a clearly daytime slot).

I love the absolute horror in the studio when £250k goes, Noel with his hand over his mouth, everyone loudly groaning and then a stunned silence, even when Lynn tries to joke about it Noel looks glum and says "So you're lowering your expectations?"

By about two years later you'd have a smaller groan followed by loud "COME ON!"s and cheering for the £100k!
