£8k was pretty mean. However, it was a clever offer. At the start of the show, Sam mentioned that she wanted to be a social worker (or something along those lines) and the cost of the course fees were about £8,000.

Yeah that's where she slipped up. If she hadn't said that then the banker would have more unsure of her and she might have got higher offers. We don't know that for sure though and i wonder if she would have dealt a much higher offer at the final pair?
Her partner could also have been more confident and a bit quieter.

It's like the mistake Kelsie made but on a much smaller scale. I guess it's easy to say stuff like that if you're under pressure though..

Sadly, I think the way Sam's boyfriend was purveyed on the show put him in a really negative light, that's definitely not how I saw him when the game really happened.

I didn't speak to him all that much but on the most part I like the guy.

He shouldn't be criticised as we probably didn't see the whole unedited show. I'm sure he was probably really supportive. I don't really blame Sam for going all the way either as the offers were pretty poor. Real shame about the result.

As an ex-contestant, The pilgrims clap after the biggies go, to bring the atmosphere back up and positive again and it truly works. We can't swear so it covers the anguish. It's very hard when the big ones go, the clapping makes you carry on, else you might just say forget it!

I hope this makes sense now!

Get some tickets and don't clap when the big ones go and see how it makes everyone feel. You might get kicked out though!

:? :(

I liked Sam in her game despite not really taking to her much during her time on the wings. The bit with Mac in this game was very funny - he looks like he could turn out to be a legend in his game! I wish Noel would stop going on about "What are the chances X will be here two days in a row", when the chances are 1 in 22 at the beginning of the show and 1 in 2 at the 2-box stage and nothing will change that! There is a psychological element of "It can't be here again, can it?" but mathematically, there is no basis for this at all!

I was surprised Sam no dealt the £8,000 offer as she seemed to be deliberating so much over previous offers... I did think her boyfriend should probably not have acted angrily when she no dealt the £8,000, but at the same time I can see why he appeared to react in that way!

 Does Noel have to that same "At least they played the game their way and were true to themselves" speech every time they play to the end and lose? It wouldn't be so bad if he gave the same treatment to the players who dealt too early!!

Haha yes, I noticed this too... this is the new Noel though - the neutral one left ages ago...

Always a dangerous thing to mention financial targets - like hannah talking about her £2,000 debt resulting in a low £2,000 offer for her final two - an offer which was low of the board due to her revealing her target and the banker offering her target to try and tempt her out of the chair, although for her it didn't work and she ended up no dealing and winning the higher amount!

Enjoy the £750, Sam!
