The first episode ever shown gets a repeat today. The only one with 22 newbies and a player playing on their first game.

There wasn't a commentary done on either commentary site so will do one today. Noel explains the game to the new audience.

Box 19 (Adrienne) £5
Box 5 (Anita) £50,000 - Big groans
Box 17 (Trevor) £20,000 - More groans
Box 11 (Maurice) £250,000 - Huge groans
Box 8 (Jayne) Thinks its 1p - and it is.

The phone sounds very different - a tinnier ring.

First offer £1,700

Met with groans from the audience. Noel points out how many values there are left on the board lower.

The phone sounds hilarious!

And Maurice just grinning after revealing the £250,000 was hilarious! :)

Another reason why £50,000 is special. It was the first ever red opened.

Sam was cuuuute.

Box 6 (Sam) £100,000 - The audience really getting into this game.
Box 21 (Natalie)

Noel calls the first ever break and the audience groans again.

Box 21 (Natalie) £1,000

Noel mentions how rare it is that people cheer about throwing away £1,000 and how the Banker will worry about the chance she will hit loads of blues next round.

Offer 2 £900

Of course there was none of the contestants asking Noel for the question at the beginning.

This, even though I watched it when it was originally on, seems soooooooooooo weird.

I think Lynn is the perfect player to kick the show off though! She just seems so calm and in control even when the game is going wrong. Most other players wouldn't have acted like she did when that £900 offer came through.

£250- We can LIVE with that,

HA HA HA. Times have changed. People clap the loss of £100,000 these days just because the biggie is still there

Can we see some more shots of lovely Lisa please? ;-)

Anyone showing this amount of disdain to the offers thse days would get crucified by the banker!

Interesting that the wing line up is a perfectly alternating male-female sequence - I don't think this will ever have happened since then! :)

Yeah that annoys me a bit because it obviously isn't OK. We also didn't have blue chanting. I like the way this audience reacts! Noel is also OK. Nowadays he treats anyone suspiciously if they deal the 3rd offer even if it's for a large amount of money.......

First offer 31.7% of FD
Second offer 22.0% of FD
Third offer 74.4% of FD

People obvious didn't realise how poor the halfway board was.

God, this is surreal, seeing my first ever episode with the original 22 on my TV!

Highlights are Maurice's grin after revealing £250k, Lynn's "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA" at the £900, and that mad third round where £15k and £5k are treated like the end of the world, and a "We can live with that" after £250!! It was also unclear at this stage whether there actually was a Banker on the other end, by show 4 I was convinced there wasn't...and then Rachel talks to him, madly confusing me!

Watch out for a bit of hand-spaz from Noel before he picks up the phone soon. Also, is it me or are these recaps of the game at the start of every part added in later? They seem edited in...

£4,300 was GOOD - why were they all booing it? Did they expect an offer on the mean?

And why no comma in the £4300?

That no deal was RISKY!

i agree. 9 times out of ten a player has usually crashed on that board a la

Giorgio, Tony, Gloria etc. it's the only offer worth considering up to now.
