How have you calculated the volatility?

Volatility is calculated by taking the highest amount left on the board off the total left, then you have to divide the highest amount left by the amount you worked out (or for a better explanation go to http://www.bothersbar.co.uk)

Round 6 Stats
Boxes left: 2
Mean: £17,505.00
Offer: £15,500
Offer (%): 88.55%
Fair Deal: £9,048.30
Volatility: 3,500.00

Fair enough, and how about your "fair deal"?

You may see these figures change every now and again, that's because of the banker's always changing behaviour.

Fair deal is worked out by square rooting the remaing values on the board, dividing them by the amount of boxes left and then square the answer you get.

What happened to "we play on with honesty"? Why did Noel say to John "you think it's in box 4"? Surely if we're "playing on with honesty", he should be thinking it's not in box 4, but hoping he's wrong...

I know some people said that yesterday's game was boring, but today's game really was. Not an OPW, middling sum of money, lots of pointless talk about a male voice choir - just a bit dull really.

Know this is the wrong place but did anyone see Countdown and if so did the champion win again?

Ya. It was her birthday too. She's got 5 wins now I think.

And if he'd gone with the other one, we'd have had the truly wonderful sight of an, um, 100-0 TPW. (Pedantically, a 99.98-0.02 TPW.)

In stark contrast to that clown winning £50k the other day?

Yesturday's game was better than todays granted, and I agree with the fact it's so annoying people tend to try and make themselves look like they've done the right thing by choosing the boxes they were scared of.

That's why I approve of systems. People can't be dishonest.

Again, ITD that it was boring...this has been one of the best weeks ever! I really liked John and I'm glad he turned it around from what was a rubbish board in the middle; I was also quite glad that the final offer was higher, as being denied three OPWs in a row by just £2 would have been *beep* annoying! Don't think we've ever had an all-player wins week before...hopefully Sunday's player can manage it!

Audrey, £35k Matt, Sexy Joan (how can Noel forget her?!) and Irish David all took the three big ones out in a row as well. Noel sucks.

How could anyone possibly forget Sexy Joan?

I really enjoyed that game too. This week's been brilliant. Well done John!

I think it should have been anyway, really... I very much doubt the Banker would have been that generous in play on £35k with a pretty crap blue. That was a "stick" situation at best!

Well done John anyway, on beating the Banker and extending this great sequence of red wins!

I wish he'd picked £35k in the proveout, just so Noel could possibly harp on about the 2 quid he missed out on my not dealing the first offer.... :-D

But that was some recovery considering he had a blue in his box all along, to keep those last 4 reds in play as long as he did was quite remarkable, an all-blue squashdown was looking astrong possibility at one point. I THINK I woud have dealt when he did too, though in retrospect the third offer of £5k did seem tempting considering the mean was only just over £6k at the time! :)

Fingers crossed Sunday's player can avoid being beaten by the banker (I don't even want to see a TBW)!

That pair did crop up in active play recently with Rich and he was offered £14k, so it had to be around that again really - and Nigel's £13k with a similar last pair. Maybe £15.5k is slightly high, but I definitely would have expected more than £10k! Plus John removed a lot less money from the board in the round from 5 to 2 than Rich did (I read that this had a bearing on the offer somewhere)!
