67 grand was absolutely dead on the mean, so we can easily dismiss that as over-inflated, but it still would have been a bit more than 42k in active play I reckon, so I'm not too bothered about him missing out on an OPW!!

And he wins a sum cool enough for Hall Of Fame, surely?

Oh, and he has shattered the record for winnings with £250 on the table - the previous record was Ned's £15k, and even he wasn't in possession of it at the time - the next one was Gill's £11k!! :D

Gus was a great contestant, and another big win! :D
I thought Gus might go too far into the game, wasn't expecting him to
deal when he did but it wasn't a bad decision, and despite Chantelle's success, it is worth remembering Julian's game where he had another
big offer at 8 box only to see things unravel after that.

I'm glad he didn't turn out to be the reckless gambler he said he was going to be in Julian's game.

Well done on £42,047.48, Gus!

I love how they just barely fit the amount into the graphic!

Looks like we're finally back on track now, first Chantelle's game and now this! Even the fact that he dealt too soon doesn't bother me (especially because there's no way the offer would have been pretty much the mean), like yesterday a great character with a great win! Well done, Gus, that was magnifico!

What an awesome game!!! Gus was a legend even before he played, but Dealing for that amount made him one of the best players ever. The proveout offer probably was realistic, as the offers are all so generous nowadays, but had he turned down the £42,047.48 then he could easily have turned down the £67k and had an absolute disaster. So well done Gus!!

To quote Noel after the Banker made his £67000 offer:

"Gus, this was going to be one of the luckiest days of your life. You went too soon".

I reckon if I had just won over 42 grand, I think it might have been one of the luckier days that I'd had...

Well played Gus! Change the record Noel...

Well done Gus on an entertaining show and a big win.

With regard to the Rich 'thing', I've only been watching for a few months and was unaware that the banker chose or influenced who got chosen to play. Hope he guesses right soon or it'll start to get boring.

Well I guess the Banker "character" is a creation of the production team, who must also choose the order of players. Given that they want to portray the Banker as a real person though, I'm surprised they said something that obviously implied that fact.

Very good point from Power5. Very, very good point.

Loving how the .48 on that graphic appears to be in Times New Roman, rather than Eurostile like the rest of the text. [/font geek]

Probable real offer of £55-60k, I'd imagine.
