I think I'd have dealt that - Laura had yet to hit the £50k when she got offered £14,999 didn't she?

She did indeed. That was actually an "Outright Player Loss"...he took the lowest offer all game and had more in his box. :? Still, he got a fair bit more than Rose did!

They're quite rare aren't they, those OPLs - wonder how many there have been? Usually happens when someone decides to cut their losses and deal at the final stage after their game falls apart, but ends up having the higher of the two remaining in their box.

From memory...

Marie
Jason (2)
Terri
Stevie
Shahid
David (5)

So unless there are loads I've missed, then yes, they are quite rare! Even Geordie managed to avoid it!

And yep, they all came from deals at the final two...people like Bob and Pierre took their lowest offers by dealing earlier, but had less in their boxes.

Well Done David!

Surely its more likely that a sum will be in the same BOX NO two days running than ON THE TABLE..

Was proved today..

They're both equally likely.

David had such a strong board at first, I was expecting a big win. But then it all fell apart. Never mind, at least he's got £5,300!

Yes it's a 1 in 22 chance of each amount being either on the table OR in a particular box number, wherever it was the day before.

And assuming they have no genuine psychic powers, it's the same as the chance of a player correctly predicting what's in their box. What odds Rich being there longer than Lucy was if they carry out that threat? (alternatively they could just ask him to predict what's in his box when someone leaves him until the end...)

That £14,999 offer is SO minxy!

People don't ever think they can deal it with £250,000 still on the table, as they don't want the biggest loss ever, even if it's only by £1! I still think I'd have taken it, was it was far from a clear-cut decision, as there was still a decent sum available even if the biggie went next round, and that was indeed the case. Indeed I thought the first 4 offers were all very-well pitched, and either decision could be well justified, but I thought the last two were too close to the mean - I think something like £3,500 - £4,000 at the last offer wuld have been a real tester.

And Gus really is the star of the wings at the moment! :)

I'd be interested to see MisterAl's stats of the 'Best round to Deal' over, say, the last 50 or 100 games as opposed to the entire run of the show - it's possibly my imagination but instances of the second or third offer being the highest offer a player receives in a game seem to be occuring more regularly these days. I guess with the larger Banker offers in the earlier rounds that this shouldn't be that unexpected.

Thought David came across as a decent chap but his luck eluded him when he needed it most.

I think a sensible time to have dealt in this game would've been at the £14,999 offer - as his board was looking a bit dodgy at that point. Anyway, it was nice to see him deal at the last offer and not carry on to try and chase the previous higher money he was offered! Oh and Noel needs to sort his laws of probability out!

Well done David on the £5,300 - enjoy the money!
