Aww, Helen is a legend...shame she's having such a rubbish game (so far ;) ). Even in these early shows, Noel's memory is crap, though - he said that nobody had ever taken out all of the top five in the first two rounds, when Rob did it just three days earlier!

This is also the show in which Karen became the longest-running player ever - it's her 31st, meaning she'd definitely beaten Elaine H's 30.

Damn, I missed it! I needed to find out what Gill had in this game as this and Louise's games are the 2 games I don't know what she had.

What a dream round Helen had from 5 to 2 box! Great courage too :D

Final two: £5,000
£20,000
Banker's Offer: £13,000

How often does the banker offer more than the mean with just two boxes left, I can't remember many times!

Yep, Gill had £100.

That was a fantastic game actually...I think Helen is one of my favourite players now. Seeing her so happy when that last blue went at the end was awesome.

And yes, a rare above-the-mean offer at the end there! I think the only ones since then have been in trainwreck games - Irene, Chris, Wendy - where the offer was still crap despite being above the mean. She had to take that really...it didn't feel like much of a bad decision, even though she did have the £20k.

I was doing a dilan04 using the same boxes as she picked. Strange that all my power five had gone at the same point. But instead I dealt at the same point with £500 and £1,000 left for £700. Had £500 in my box! :D

Above-the-mean offers in active play:

"Player 14" - Fifth offer, £28,000
Helen (1) - Sixth offer, £13,000
Irene - Fifth offer, £800
Chris (2) - Fourth offer, £1,500
Wendy - Fourth offer, £2,500

Think that's it...there've been a few in the proveouts, but I'm not sure how reliable they are. And a fair few people have had offers that were exactly on the mean.

I'll never forget "Player 14"'s above the mean offer.

I can't trust the proveout offers, I can kinda believe Mally's because Jennifer was still in play and got £120,000.

Wow, that was some recovery! I always thought Ottis was the first player to have lost all the Power 5 by the second offer as well, and two did it in four shows in December 2005! :)

That £13k offer was stupidly high though - nobody's going to risk £8k to gain £7k on a coin-flip that's just silly. IN all honesty, I don't think she ever had a really tough decision to make - the earlier offers were easy no-deals, unless you just HAD to get £1k-£2k out of the game at all costs.

I saw on Wikipedia originaly that she had dealt for £13k at the final offer with £20k in her box, and thought the only other possible remaining box would have been £10k - but surely £13k on a £20k/£10k split would be an easy no-deal? I reckon on a well pitched offer (£11k-£12k), she'd have gone for it and won the £20k. Still, after that start, £13k was a fantastic result.

Yeah it was a weird offer really...I can see the logic behind all the other AMOs, but that was just a bit odd. Maybe they wanted to definitely ensure her game had a happy ending. (Although even £5k would have been a decent result after that start!)
