Awww. Awful game. Only just got round to watching it on More4. I almost wish I hadn't bothered. :(

Same as above, poor Madeline. I genuinely wanted her to do well.

This was really, really harsh...she just came across as a pleasant woman, so it was terrible. It was made all the worse by the almost inevitable sense of it...after mentioning all that about being a small winner and being unlucky, the train wreck after she no-dealt at the five box stage just seemed unpreventable. Hindsight's a great thing and all, but...I don't know, it felt like it was going to happen somehow.

The banker's actions in dropping from £6,600 to £4,000 were deplorable, given the courage she showed to reject the former. I'd have offered around £6,000 at that five box stage.

That was in response to Duffer's "swear box" comment...

No-dealing the £6,600 was a real gambler's action. There was a 64% chance of taking out at least one of the £35K or £50K and leaving the one box game she had.

I'd have taken the £4K offer too. It wasn't worth the risk for a 40% chance of a possible £15K-£20K offer, which also I would have taken.

I'll take that as a complement. We can all gamble playing practice games on the net but £6,000 is a lot of real money. Just please never go into a casino when you are old enough.

I was actually shouting at her to take the £6,600. I knew it would be a force to play on offer if she hit either 35k or 50k in the next 3 boxes, which she did, and he did. I don't know why everyone thinks the £4,000 was so unreasonable - I thought it was perfectly pitched to appeal to a cautious player and be temptation enough for a gambler to play on.

It was an obvious "Deal and avoid the £50k or no deal and hit the 50k" scenario there, I just wouldn't have known whatto do.

£1.45 on a £1/£5 finish. If you were still bothered at that point, you'd know how awful that offer was. If you increase the proportions, can you ever envisage anyone being offered £14,500 on a £10k/£50k last pair? I thought not!

Poor Madeliene. :(

And poor Geordie, his agony goes on!

Agony? Pah. If I was in Nana's position with £1 and £5, even if the Banker offered me £1.01, I'd gladly relieve Geordie of his title; it'd be nice to get some consolation out of a bad game.

And c'mon, obviously the £50,000 lured her on, because it's the most awesome sum of money on the board ;o Shame it tricked her.

I'd have probably taken the £6,600 but gone on at £4,000 (anticipating the latter would have influenced the former) so actually I suppose Simon F is 'worse' than me. But we'd both have gained decent-money OPWs from today instead of a quid, so caution would have worked. Today, at least. Sometimes it doesn't, but you never let us forget that.

I also think it would have been a difficult experience for her being there for a single game, then having to wait nearly 4 months before your second one. Probably worse that than having 20 games before the break then playing on one of the first ones after the break!

What a ridiculous comment! Alasdair was a nice guy and deserved to do well, as did Madeleine. Shame she did so badly.

Sorry...I just get really pissed off in games where people I really like do badly, just after dull people do really well. Ideally everyone would do well, but it just feels so..."unjust". I know it isn't, but in the heat of the moment I get very annoyed...

Well, TBH, when it's people I don't like very much, I don't really care how much they get but I rarely want anyone to do badly.

(Although it does happen sometimes! :))
