And as for the low £70k offer. Yes, it was low for the board. But it couldn't have been too low, seeing as though David actually took it!

He didn't have much choice, what with only £10k being the backup. Plus, his wife telling him to deal at the £25k and definitely the £70k, I'd imagine! (Well, they said she had a 99.9% influence on thedeal!).

That's what I didn't like about it... It might sound evil, but if someone wins 1p, I want them to go home with 1p, not with an extra 250 quid on top of it.

I'm really not sure what I'd have done at £70k...I'd have been really really tempted to go for it, but I think I'd have reluctantly had to deal. Which means it was a pretty well-pitched offer, in my opinion - anything £90k+ would be an instant deal to me.

Wasn't majorly impressed with the overall game, though...I'm probably alone here, but I think I preferred Jane's...

No, you're not... That game just left me feeling...er, cold.

I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist at all, and maybe it was the way it was edited, but something didn't ring true about that game... :?

Bad news for you all guys: Jane's game scored 3.8 Million in the ratings, yet David's only scored a measly 3.4 Million

Actually there are some positives to take out of that. The 3.8 million represents an ever increasing figure for the Sunday night show at its usual timeslot, and there may well have been some viewers from the exciting Sunday 1st birthday show that will be hooked into the show. I think the key is getting the viewers for the Sunday c. 5.45 pm timeslot, and it is definitely an upward trend at the moment.

Yes, I found that ratings data baffling, really. Granted, 3.8 million is the highest since June's game at the end of May, but it really should have belonged to the anniversary special. There are probably 400,000 people who saw Jane's game and wondered what happened to Matchplay!

EDIT: Yeah, true. 3.4 million would also have been an amazing result around July/August time, too, when DOND ratings were at their lowest.

And yep, Rico...I uploaded that Noel Meets Noel picture for Wikipedia! Here's a few more:

I meant that the anniversary shows scored less then some other less special episodes, and Jane scored more then the special anniversary episode which everyone is supposed to watch regardless of what else is on! Curse you heartbeat...

I knew Heartbeat was a ratings juggernaut but that's still shocking. What did Heartbeat get, 9m?

BBC report gives Heartbeat 8.3m.

There was also another game featuring reds and blues on at the same time, which I expect scored at least a couple of million as well...

I was screaming "Fix!!!" at the end when there were the two boxes left. I'm glad the 250K wasn't there because then it would have truly been fixed.

Er, seeing as though the the £250k has to be somewhere, why can't it be in the player's box by chance?

Even if David had have had the quarter-million in front of him, that's no evidence at all to suggest a fix.

Coincidences happen in random processes. If we never saw any coincidences at all, then that would be absolutely remarkable.

(No offence, like. But conspiracy theorists make me laugh.)

And as for the low £70k offer. Yes, it was low for the board. But it couldn't have been too low, seeing as though David actually took it!

I guarantee you that I did not tell anyone about any numbers, favourite or otherwise whilst I was at DOND. I only mentioned it when it came down to the last 2 boxes!
