But the banker almost definitely would've offered the swap. Didn't Noel once get the banker to phone to confirm he would've given the swap?

The offers may have been less, no swap may have been offered, Nev may have changed his mind about a box, about the swap, etc. etc.

No, you seem to not appreciate that £41,000 is a life changing sum of money to some people, and it could easily have gone wrong had he gone on. For most contestants, it's about the money before playing the game to the end.

It makes more sense to deal there when you could go away with £5. There is no way anyone who had a brain would turn down £76,000 on that board.

A multi-millionaire :D :-D :-D

Nah, no one in there right mind would turn it down mainly because there was only one number larger than it!

Don't be silly, greeny - you could buy a lot of sweets with a fiver! Oh, hang on, Nev isn't 14...

Well, that was dodgy. Wouldn't have looked it to most viewers, because it wasn't actually in his box, butI'm quite sure they'd have known 5 was his lucky number, so maybe they set it up to look like an innocent coincidence. The £41k offer was insanely high, though, and the only way I could even have contemplated going on was believing £250k was on the table - though I must admit I would have been about 80% sure of it at that time!

I couldn't afford to risk £41,000 on a conspiracy, though...

KP, everyone said this when the same happened on the 100th(? was it 100?) show. The paranoia is just silly. It was a coincidence. No fixing, no manipulating. Paranoia sucks.

It looked fix enough. They just "made" it look like it wasn't.

How did they make it look like it wasn't a fix? By having the rock in the box on other milestone shows?

If they wanted to fix it, they'd put it in his box in the first place! Casual viewers won't give a crap - the most they'd do is say "Ooh, how funny, on the 250th show - I bet that Noel's cheating" and then switch over to something else. The die-hard fans like us will be suspicious if there's any kind of £250k-related activity.

Great Game. £41,000 is a great offer still. I might have carried on for one more round and no more.

Well, highest win since Lance's but I'm still a bit disappointed. Incidentally, with one minor exception (£5 instead of 50p) Nev had the same last 5 as Shirley - and would have been offered £21k more???

And this hypothetical swap is a load of nonsense - he couldn't win in that situation. I bet he wishes He's just kept schtum about swapping!

Nev sold his original box, which contained £20k, for £41k. Not many would have turned down the £76k, that's for sure!
