Wow - if anyone was like that to the banker nowadays, he would go mad!

This was originally broadcast on Rememberance Day. And, without spoiling anything, today's game is certainly one to remember!

He was cocky, and went

'If he offers me £75,000 or more he can leave quickly, and if he offers me less, he can stay'

I thought he was cool!

BEST POSSIBLE FINAL TWO!!!!! Grr, if only he hadn't Dealt. (Although I can hardly talk - I think I'd have had the £13k one round before.)

Did I mishear, or did Noel say "Join us tomorrow at 3:15"? Seems very early.

Today's repeat was originally shown on a Friday, right? Noel never says what time DOND'll be shown on a Saturday, simply because the time changed almost every week. The earliest time it was shown on a Saturday was 4:10, 4:15 or 4:20 (can't remember which, but it was 4:something).

And so Maurice breaks Anita's record from Show 3 and becomes both the biggest DOND winner and biggest UK daytime TV winner ever. He wouldn't hold those titles for long, though!

Regarding the Noel thing, I just checked the tape and he said 4:15. Still, wrong, though - the actual Saturday episode was aired at 4:25. The announcer corrected Noel on the original Ch4 showing.

Silly Noel. He was wrong about Trevor's advice, too - wasn't it Adrienne who told Natalie that the £22k was a thousand pounds for every year of her life? Unless they both said it...

Why would you hav4e taken the 13K one? It was the third offer!

It was the fourth offer, not that it matters - there's no shame in taking the third offer, you know. ;)

I'd have taken it becaue everything other than the £250k and £75k was crap (£3k isn't much of a back-up, really)....not sure what the probability of taking them both out would be, but it's definitely possible, and I wouldn't want to risk £13k (which would help get me through uni) with a strong chance of being left with *beep* all. I accept that that would probably be an overly cautious decision, though.

not sure what the probability of taking them both out would be

10.7%. One of the most-quoted probabilities at the Bar for a while - there was a fair run of two-box games at deal-of-8 for a while, I gather.

Thanks, KP. :D Higher than I thought, actually - which makes me even more certain that I'd have Dealt!

10.7 is so slim, though!

that's odd that the £250,000 stayed in play in the final 2 boxes for 2 days in a row but i don't blame maurice for dealing at £35,000

Yay, some of this game has been uploaded to YouTube!

Edit: O wait, maybe I've got confused and it hasn't. . .

Double Edit: Wrong again, I translated Daniel's 'perfect final 2' a little differently :D . . .it is there

Hahah, sorry....it's only "perfect" if you, like me, are desperate for a 50p winner. (Although if Maurice had won 50p, it would have been one of the first amounts to be won, and therefore I wouldn't be wanting someone to win it. So, erm, yeah.)
