Anita today, from ages ago!

They just got the worst possible camera angle on the last box, they had it behind the box while it was opened!

The names of the players scroll uber-fast on the gameboard on the selection process, and as soon as the £250,000 is revealed, can someone get me a clip of the music that plays?

I'm getting fed up of how many times Noel says the amount that's been revealed

Why did the audience gasp at £2,900 or whatever

Remember that piano music that played when the £15,000 went? It sounded really deep and a bit Japenesey, if someone could get that for me that would be great. Itll probably play when the £250,000 goes...

What was that opening offer, £2,900 after what was effectively an all-blue opening round? That start would get a five-figure offer these days!

I guess they had to be careful in the early shows as they wouldn't have known quite where they needed to pitch the offers and didn't want to risk first offer deals!

Just posting during the second break, and you'd certainly get a much more rowdy audience now with a board like that. Before she took out £10k and £75k in Round 2, it was looking like a game of Marie/Brenda proportions.

I actually remember what she won, but I won't spoil it...so, back to the game!

And again they opened the player's box last. Surreal.

The benches are of a darker wood without the silver trim, and the audience is tiny. The whole thing looks like it could have been an unbroadcast pilot...

Just imagine watching that show in November, when the daytime TV record was £25,000. At £33,000, Anita became the biggest daytime TV winner in British television history...though it wouldn't be for long!

Firsts in this episode:
Noel references today's new player, Lisa.
Noel asks a contestant on the wings for advice, in this case Lyndsay.
First five-box Deal, and therefore first proper proveout.
The Banker rings for a reason other than giving an active offer - the first hypothetical offer. You can tell even Noel didn't expect that.
First time more than £5,000 is given away in the Viewer's Competition. It isn't explained why.
And, this surprised me, but the other players crowd round the contestant for the first time. I'd forgotten this started so early.

Sorry, didn't make that clear...it's when the Banker rung to say what he would have offered when Anita got down to the final two. Just noteworthy in that in the previous two shows, as Lynn and Mark both dealt at the final two, all the Banker did was ring up and give the offer. This is the first time he did something a bit different, and ring up and give the hypothetical offer. If that makes sense.

The show has definetley improved since the start. The camera angles the music cues and the offers. Obviously it was a new show and so CH4 and Endemol most probably weren't sure how popular it'd be and is the case now very popular so they no doubt improved the production and editing of the show. Plus Noel and the crew have all settled in and so they know where to point the cameras and suddenly change the music.

Great show today - Anita was the first really entertaining character, and I feel like I "know" the people on the wings now. (Although there should never, ever be a woman on the end of the West Wing. Stupid Lisa.)

Because it's a man's position. Just like the end of the East Wing is a woman's position. Although sadly, the Deal or No Deal producers seem to have absolutely no idea about any of this. Fools.
