Based on recent trends, the Banker would've only went up by £2,500 max. if Simon found a blue and pressed the button.

It's only worth going on here if you're prepared to do a conventional round, which Simon clearly was not.

£18,000 would've been a Deal for me unless the Banker promised something big (£30,000+) for finding a blue and then pressing the button.

Again, not really worth playing "one more box" in that situation as the offer would only go up by £8,000 if you found a blue but crash by OVER double that (probably to £1,300 given Simon's earlier comment) if you found the £250k.
