Astonishing - and from genuinely good gameplay on both sides, capped off by the historic Deal. Just to remind you how long that record has stood, Jennifer's game was episode 17, she was the first player to play her game having not been on the original 22, Tony Blair was Prime Minister, Des Lynam had just started hosting Countdown, and "Hung Up" by Madonna had just replaced Westlife's "You Raise Me Up" as the UK number one.

An instant classic.

I would imagine she is not caring about the additional £10,000 :-)
Anyone with an ounce of sanity would NEVER risk Box 23 on £170,000 let alone £10,000! ;)

After EIGHT YEARS of waiting, the record for the highest deal has FINALLY been beaten!

WELL DONE PAT! :smt041

Pat goes into the Hall of Fame for four reasons:
1. First person to deal at £170,000
2. Highest Banker offer in live play
3. Highest offer dealt at!
4. SECOND person to have the DREAM FINISH in live play!

That is remarkable. I still remember Jennifer's game thinking she was taking a gamble too far!
Most contestants would have happily settled for £32,000 and I didn't expect Pat to no deal that. Having got the dream finish you would have expected her to go to the end but it was shrewd to deal the highest offer ever, and on that basis you knew that she was certainly not going to be as reckless as dealing Box 23. It's ironic that it had the amount that blue winners can only dream of but was relatively inconsequential today.

Given Box 23's contents does this constitute a player or banker victory?

Genuinely did not ever think that Jennifer would have her record beaten, I thought that was just going to remain there until the show's dying call.

I was 11 when Jennifer made that deal and in my early days of Year 7. Now I'm 20 and in my final few months of college. HahaHAHAHhaha...

Ho-lee boats. Where did that come from? The game had a pretty ordinary start, and then became historic in a matter of minutes. That's insane.

The last time someone was in live play with the Dream Finish, the final offer was £5,000 less, and the £250,000 was won. This time, the final offer was actually dealt, and it turned out to be the right call. Who cares about Box 23 here? To me, it's a monumental victory, and a spanking at that.

I think this deal will probably remain as the highest ever for a while, as it's difficult to top that amount. The only other ways to do so are to replicate the feat, and hope the Banker offers a few thousand pounds more (technically, the highest he can go is £175,000, which is the mean), or go for Box 23 and hope the doubler is inside. But most people won't do that, especially after such a massive sum is won.

Congrats to Pat, and enjoy every penny of that £170,000 :smt023.

Superb mega money game, and without obvious banker error that time! :smt023 Brave move at 5-box, where I could understand anyone dealing - the £15k probably just pushes me on there, as a £15k/£100k finish would be a significantly higher offer than £32k.

A record that stood for 2,444 shows before it was broken, although in my view that should've been a lot shorter...

WELL DONE PAT! :D :smt023

That win also means you could fill a entire line-up with 6 figure winners now! :smt023

He did offer £140,000 on Kerry-Anne's £10k/£250k board and also £160,000 on Rich's £50k/£250k board.
Maybe if some sort of darts fan plays he could offer "ONE HUNNNNNDRED AND EIGHTYYYYYY" thousand. :P

WOW, WOW, WOW, sdgthju :smt119 ................................

BRILLIANT job Pat for having the GUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :smt023 :smt023 :smt023

WOW, WOW, WOW, sdgthju :smt119 ................................

A great game from start to finish, and unlike every mega-money winner on the show since Roy, she didn't need a ridiculously strong board OR ridiculously stingy offers. Her 5 box offer was certainly a tough one to decline with a 10% of losing the lot in one go, but Pat was determined to get the mega-money for her family and it paid off SPECTACULARLY!!!!! :D :D

Did no-one spot the glaring mistake?. Noel referred to Suzanne as the fourth quarter millionaire when in actual fact she was the third, Tegen was the fourth!. Tut tut Noel, what kind of presenter are you? hehe.

Wow. Amazing game. A lot of people might have gone at 5-box but it certainly wasn't a stupid gamble.

With only one more game this week, I believe we also have a new record for the highest average win in a week now whatever happens on Sunday.

I'd been considering putting today's show as part of last week and Sunday's show as part of next week... but there was a 2-show week last year and I treated that as a whole week, so I should do the same this time really. So that means an average win for this week of at least £85,000, which eclipses the current top week by a ridiculous margin!

Dear Noel Edmonds

One person is not a 'handful'. Even after the banker told you it was just Suzanne who had ever had the DREAM finish in LIVE play you still referred to the 'handful' of people that have had it!!!

According to the weekly payouts spreadsheet, the total is now £37,047,296.925... so yes according to what I've got!
