Steve says that's really really a lot of money. Sue tells Steve to go with his gut. Steve's stepdaughter says it's a hard one to call, and they could do a lot with it. Steve still has a good feeling about his box. He asks for a sweep on what the others would do; it is mainly NO DEALs. Shona brings up Pat's game, and how she was able to cope with the pressure. Chantal says £7,000 would get a great holiday in Jersey!

Steve says:

DEAL

Honest to God tally: 7

Round 5 - proveout

Box 11 with Shona - £15,000 :|

That's a tantalising one, says Noel. He says Steve has to hit at least one of the top two.

Box 21 with Brijesh - £250

Now £15,000 is not looking like the damage we needed, says Noel.

Box 12 with Montana - £75,000 :D

Banker time...

Honest to God tally: still 7

You avoided a third one-box-game in a row, says Noel.

Banker's offer would've been:

£2,000

Box 15 with Wendy contains the £10.

Steve says the money will mean so much to him and his family. :D :smt023

Final Honest to God tally: 8 :smt023 Though Noel must have missed one, as he says it's 7. :ponder:

Slightly cautious 8-box deal but only avoiding the top 3 from 8-box or just hitting the £15k would have meant a bigger offer (and it was never going to go up hugely unless all the big reds were kept).

Good to see a sensible deal not punished by a bad proveout for a change.

ACB can't help but to be lazy today and quote Simon F who wrote:

Couldn't say it better myself. :smt023 :smt023 :smt023

I think a tallying of THAT phrase was always going to happen and I make Hogwild's tally right - I think the missing one in the show was when Steve was talking to his fiancee about one of the offers and Noel kept butting in. Steve was clearly trying to reel himself in from saying THAT phrase too often and as a result this probably made him even more tense and nervous. £7k at 8-box was arguable either way and a good fun game produced a good fun result!

Well, whilst I mainly agree it was a sensible deal that got a fair proveout, I'd argue the average 50k/1k/blue round would've got a couple of thousand increase *provided the contestant was confident in the no-deal decision*, and clearly the fact Steve asked for a sweep showed he wasn't, so it was absolutely right for him to deal! :smt023
