Julius' wife comes down from the audience. Julius is uncertain what to do. Beverley says she'd take the money. Wayne says the money would help Julius. Julius' wife queries about the swap, and says he should deal if he cannot swap, and vice versa! The Banker says he'll tell us whether he'll get it or not after he's answered the question. He'll tell Noel though, so Noel writes it in the book. Mary says Julius should consider whether he'd be OK with crashing. Julius has no idea what's in his box!

Julius says:

NO DEAL

I really hope he has £15,000 or there are probably going to be some overly cautious players from tomorrow.

The Banker has never felt so sorry for a player before! He is not offering the swap! :eyes:

Noel reveals £750 in Julius' Box 18. :(

Damn it. Well, he played the game how he wanted. You could clearly tell that he could only accomplish his dreams by going for the £15,000, but at least he is in high spirits...

Box 13 with Craig contains the £15,000.

Julius remains upbeat, and says he is fine. His wife says she told him to take the money, but he needn't worry! Noel says Julius' tactics would've paid off another day.

A GGW, and a poor decision overall. That's all I have to say about this.

Well, that's one turnaround which didn't have the fairytale ending so many have lately. Shame but £750 is a lot of money still.

That's not discounting his recovery to £5,250 at two-box though - which was very good indeed. He made a fight of a game which was heading towards trainwreck territory, and there's a lot to be said for that. :smt023

It's an acronym for Gamble Gone Wrong. I probably should've been more clear about that.

And Chuck, I know I'm going to incur your wrath and Dan's for saying this, but £750 is not really a lot of money. Also, the recovery is meaningless if it results in failure. Chasing the money works for some, but creates situations like this for others.

Care to spot me £750, then? ;)

The kind of finish and offer where I wouldn't criticise either decision. Shame he made the wrong decision and wasn't allowed the swap.

What the heck? If I was Julias I'd call out the Banker and accuse him of knowing what's in the boxes the moment he said No Swap. :x :smt011 :smt011 :smt019 :smt019 What should have been a £15,000 for the box Outright Player Win turned out to be a blue win solely because the Banker was too much a dick-head to offer the swap. :smt013

Channel 4, if you are reading this, FIRE THE BANKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :whyme

The Banker does not know what is in the boxes. Only the independent adjudicator does, otherwise the show would have been off air a long time ago.

This reminds of Angelique's game from last May, where she was initially refused the swap on a 1p-£15,000 finish, but the Banker later changed his mind, which proved to be a fatal mistake!

Also, Ade from June 2011, who didn't swap and won £15,000 from his box, claimed he might have dealt at 2-box had he not been offered the swap IIRC.
