And there's the justification for the 3-box deal.

Wow, and she said she'd have gambled at 2-box; what a gutting crash that would've been. Good thing she took the money. :smt023

Not sure why Noel asked the hypo-question there at 2-box. Even less sure why she said she would have gambled given that £9k, although not a brilliant offer, wasn't that bad. If she was going to gamble on the red-blue finish, doesn't really make logical sense to deal at 3-box.

I don't believe for a second that Suwanna would've have gambled £9,000 at 2-box. Very wise decision to deal when she did.
The only way she'd have got a higher offer is by taking out the £1 and the chance of that happening was just 33%.

A lot of difficult decisions from 5-box onwards today, with a good chance of a higher offer by opening another box every time, but I'd also be thinking the 2-box offer of a low blue against a mid-red would be hard to predict. Luckily for Surwanna she got out at the right time - if I'd got to that stage I'd have been tempted to try for the all-red finish.

A good thought-provoking game for my birthday :-D

That's good, because it might have gone against you as a second warning. And I think we operate a "3 strikes and you're temporarily out" system here. I think, because the most warnings I've ever had was two. I think. :ponder: :smt023 (That said, 14-day temp ban in '06 does kind of cancel those out....that was before the warning system anyway.)

At any rate....courage displayed in good measure here by a player who, by the commentary, didn't seem to really know what she was doing or dealing with. The first "iss a lorra munny aint it?" at £6 thousand and whatever it was, had me shaking my head slightly. But she was damn right, it's a lot of money indeed.
I commend the bravery she had to take it to 3-box, and the sensible decision she made having engineered her game to that point (if she knew what she was doing). Result? Two box which could've backfired, genuine 2-box offer which we haven't seen for a while, though I suspect it may have been ever-so-slightly lower in live play given recent circumstances....blah blah, basically a well played live game and a hypo game which didn't kick her up the backside and she goes home with £13,000. Which is massive.

Yeah, good game. :smt023
