There was a staggeringly convoluted attempt to justify the inflated proveout offer. It's not worth quoting it.

Noel thinks the Banker will be an impossible opponent for weeks if the £250k is on the table.

Huge relief there. Very unlucky to miss the £250,000 given it could've been hit.

The beautiful irony for this forum is that it was Box 4 with the blue and Box 3, with Zoe, that had the £250,000.

Noel says thankfully the champagne is on hold for the Banker! Lynda's husband says £5,000 will pay off some debts, and the "smile money" line comes out. Lynda talks about the experience being wonderful.

And Tipping Point gave away more. The £10,000 was won as DoND ended. To sell the £250k for less than was won on TIPPING POINT would have been unbearable!

The kind of board where statistically an offer that low at 8-box is worth the risk but it's sometimes difficult to take that risk financially.

Without the QM on the table, unlucky to leave it to 2-box after destroying all the rest of the meaningful money.

Only positive is that there was no hyposwap today (otherwise I'd have had to have the same argument with the Banker on Twitter that I had last time it happened)

£3,000 I thought was a good, fair offer - throwbacks to 2006 are always good in my book

£8,500 was fair again, but I wouldn't even attempt to go at 14-box. Yeah, on one of maybe 1,000 occasions it's the best thing to do, but not on 999 others. This was one of the 999.

Board looked quite volatile at 11-box, but £750? IMO, 11-box is not the time for a joke offer. People decide to deal at 11-box quite often thesedays, so I thought the joke offer was actually quite inappropriate there. Sorry to be a Scrooge type figure, but I would have expected sincerity from the Banker there.

At 8-box we're looking very volatile indeed. I can't blame Lynda for taking the £5,000. It was a poor offer in the circumstances, but the decision is just as hard at £5,000 as for a higher offer, arguably.
Personally, I would go on but with caution.

On we go to 5-box and I'd be right to have gone on - but Lynda was also partly right to opt out when she did. I mean, it's a decision proven wrong on its consequences, but the consequences involved - in large part - sheer luck. It could so easily have gone her way.

At 2-box, £71,500 seemed right to me. I would have dealt at £17,500, and definitely at £71,500. I mean, really, honestly...

...who would risk £71,499? Come on Wakey, my old mate, wherever you are - if you're reading this - Mr Wakefield, I don't think even you would have done that.

That said, Corinne risked £87,999.99 ( )...but that was a one-in-a-trillion, it probably won't ever happen again. I don't think, anyway.

There have been other risky decisions:
Joycey declined £90,000 on a £5/£250k board and ended up with the blue.
Kerry-Anne declined £140,000 on a £10k/£250k board and ended up with the lower amount.

Then again, Nong did risk £68k on the same £5/£250k board to win the jackpot.

True; I should really get up to date, as there's a massive gap in my memory from early 2008 through to last November, purely because of that exile I went into, from watching the show.

Result: I'm way behind the times, and catching up rather slowly...

Certain cruel irony to that, in live play Linda took out almost all the meaningful money, but the moment she dealt her luck turned andshe couldn't find the £250k. At the end of the day though no matter how much money she hypothetically missed out on Linda still made a profit on her box and that is at least in the spirit of the game
