22 boxes, £250,000, and just one question.

Which is the worst lead-in for this show - Face The Clock, or Honey I Blew Up The Kid? And are either as bad as Embarrassing Fat Bodies? (No.)

At least we get a very long ident, and the lovely "Asian city" one no less.

ShirtWatch: a thin vertical striped number in various shades of purple. I think I've seen this one before. Oh he's already wanting a phenomenal game. Steve's was one apparently, can't argue with that. A longish edited package, I like how they edited the first eight boxes to disappear off the screen at once.

Anyway, it's Kate with Box 12 today. She wiggles as she walks up to the table. You can't say she's not making the most of this.

And now they rotate around the table and Kate stands up and Noel sits down. :D

Katherine Okoli (sp), retired nurse educator, of Nigerian descent, living in Luton. We have a story about how she was wearing make-up on the phone. Just under 30 years of nursing experience, her first job in the UK was as a midwife. She talks about the universal joy of childbirth transcending class, and about how the parents all recognise her on the street.

We see a picture of students she taught in Zambia, who have been working to deliver babies in their communities since then, and then another of her daughter and her two granddaughters, one of whom is a gymnast.

In the audience: her nephew, Amedji (sp). Noel seems impressed by a very short conversation with him!

Formalities complete, time for the game!

So they start the game and the Banker rings for absolutely NO REASON whatsoever!

Please never go and watch a show live - you'd hate the fact it can take almost 2 hours sometimes.

Not quite sure why that was duplicated.

Before Round 1, we have a "security breach" and a silly alarm playing in the Dream Factory along with an orange light. Kids playing conkers in the basement or something. Oh it's mocking the newbie Danny, who looks so youthful Noel jokes Kate gave birth to him 18 months ago!

Anyway!

ROUND 1

Box 3 (Becky) - £15,000
"Don't worry!", Kate cries to break the silence.

Myyles has the nickname "Hair Myyles" from Noel. Everyone is amused, myself included.
Box 10 (Myyles) - £5
And only the Banker would be unamused by that one. Letterbox to start.

Box 4 (Kimberly) - £3,000
Kate liked that one.

Box 15 (Giuseppe) - £250,000 :(
Badly opened. If only it wasn't opened at all!

Box 9 (Louise) - £35,000
Some optimists applauded it!

Kate is ushered to sit in the chair for the phone call! (Presumably for the camera shots.)

The Banker's excited about this one. Danny is 21. "Months?" Kate apparently looks younger for her age than Danny.

"Too much of a gentleman to reveal your age..."

Banker's offer:

£3,071

Oh no he isn't.

The nephew subverts the 17-box trope and suggests more people consider the opening offer. Noel jokes he sounded like an independent financial advisor!

NO DEAL from Kate anyway. We call a break.

So, are all the offers going to have 71 on the end now?

And poor Danny. Is he going to be Noel's next tiresome runner? ;)

Oh my gosh! :o

As for the offer, that was rubbish but she did take out £303,000 in that round so it was expected for him to go low.

Two main reasons most likely

Too much messing about

and

a lot of thinking time.

I'm already not looking forward to Danny's game. Noel's just going to be unbearable!

Well I enjoy watching games live - you get a mixture of comedy and drama.

We're back. Noel talks up Kate as "bubbly and positive". She wants to go to Victoria Falls - she went in 1976, now she wants to take her family there too.

ROUND 2

The time is being filled with Bronwyn's tree-planting anecdote.
Box 20 (Bronwyn) - £50,000
"Oh no!"

Box 11 (Mike) - 1p
He called for the kiss, and he gets it!

Apparently he called for the 10p (when 1p was in play) in Steve's game, and had it. "You... are good!"

Box 21 (Irene) - £100

The Banker says it's the weirdest game ever.

Banker's offer:

£6,500

£6,500 is half decent on that board.

£6,500? Pretty good offer considering the £50k has gone.

I'm not even sure it's the weirdest of the week.

Noel talks about her ambitions, which include a small automatic car. "My beautiful legs want a rest." :D She just wants to go from point A to point B. Noel jokes about what point B is like as a place. ;)

Nephew's advice: not to give away too much. Fantastic advice. "Are you a lawyer?" "No sir." His study is in psychology or something, didn't catch exactly what. Why is he not the one in the chair?

Kate says NO DEAL.

ROUND 3
Box 16 (Adam) - £20,000
Massive gap. That 14-box offer is looking dealable about now.

Box 2 (Leo) - £5,000
"Another one!" There's two blues for every red at this point.

Noel offers Kate an adbreak. It's accepted.
