Banker's Gamble? Wouldn't be taking this.

Offer is

BANKER'S GAMBLE

(Well not stated but it's easier to call it this)

£363 gamble to win £1,687.

No-brainer to gamble this.

I suspect DE would be taking this gamble, if it had dealt at 5-box.

Certainly worth the gamble, but I'd also be tempted to flip the mind games off...

Well, I personally don't blame her for not gambling. A good enough result from a pretty unlucky game. Good for her, and best of luck to her! :smt023

NO DEAL to the Banker's Gamble

Hannah has £750 in Box 16

Laura reveals £3,000 in Box 13

Noel mentions Olly and he thinks we might be hearing more of her.

That Bankers Gamble was one of the easiest to go for... as £750 is still decent money... but good job she didn't take it.

Hannah ran recently in the European Cross Country Championships in Hungary.

She finished 62nd.

EDIT

Although she did win a team silver along with her GB team mates.

More evidence that the blue/red split is powerful even when the numbers aren't that different. I wonder how the show would have been different if the board had no colour divide halfway up, as was the case in the original Dutch and Australian shows (I think the Italian show invented the blue/red split too).

Shame about those two rounds, put her whole game off course really when it was looking quite promising.

That said, I can’t blame her for taking £1,313 given her aspirations. Would have continued to the end myself.

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

That game was about as depressing as an attack of norovirus on Christmas Eve.

I really warmed to Hannah, such a strong minded and determined young woman and I hope she achieves her dream of worldwide recognition for doing what she loves. But she was helpless when the nature of luck pulled a face heel turn on her and ebbed away any potential on the game board. I just hope she is able to fulfil something worthwhile with her 1983 standard TV jackpot prize.

This was a game that didn't even care that it sucked.

I didn't even know this started at 1:45 today. Nice of Channel 4 to tell us... NOT!
I tuned in at about 2:26 to hear the Banker laughing down the phone AGAIN.

The offer of £1,313 surprised me. I didn't expect the Banker to go up after taking out the £20k.

That's why the TV Guide comes in useful ;)

It's on at 2pm next Sunday.

Unlucky? She could have had 13,000!
She gambled... she lost.
How many more people have to be seduced by the mirage of the big numbers that can just vanish in the next round. We've all seen it happen.
Take good money when it's offered! ... and ignore what happens later... if you could have had more, big deal, you could just as easily have not. Who's to say you would have opened exactly the same boxes?

Yeah Hannah could have had a lot more money but the odds against taking out the top two in the next round were in her favour so not a reckless gamble, especially after Russ did more or less the same thing in the preceeding game (lightening doesn't strike twice and all that).

Banker's Gamble - if we can still call it that - was arguable either way. Certainly the uplift was roughly 3x the drop but there weren't exactly big sums involved and the proveout thankfully endorsed her choice
