Anything over £2,000 is good for that board.

The Banker promised the best possible offer...

£2,200. It's not the average, but it's not too far off.

David says that if the two reds go, you need to be prepared to win a blue. Yeah, you're pretty much guaranteed a blue if that happens.

Charlie and Tommy says that there is another round in it. Will Jo think this ?

Yes, it's a NO DEAL.

£2,700, again, is a decent offer, and perfectly dealable. Again, it's arguable either way.

Sensible call, even if the £20,000 is in her box.

Oh damn...

Worst result to start the new week off. Though, she probably would have accepted £7,000.

Oh dear. Unlucky to have £20,000 on the table without any other meaningful money. Sensible call; unlucky to have it on the table. :(

Only noteworthy and broadcastable thing about that game was the '1 in 364' £425k round.

This is a shocking period of the show right here.

When was the last time we had a Banker Spanking? It feels like it's been about 600 years! :P

Sheri, wasn't it? We've had longer runs.

FYI:

The last OPW recorded on DoND was back in March of 1994. Took a while for our Records and Research department to get back to me with that information request because there were a lot of files to look through, but they eventually did. Man, do I ever love those guys.

So in short, it's been about 18 years since the last OPW.

You're welcome.

I'm starting to get this feeling the game's fixed to be honest and the banker knows what's in the box - if it's a big amount he gets them to deal or swap it away, and if it's a small amount he gets them to win it. 18 years really is too much to be a coincidence. ;-)

You may be onto something there, James. However, don't go public with this knowledge to the BBC just yet - their news director, Helen Broaden, has just stepped aside amidst a great deal of controversy regarding a false News Night film that made allegations against a prominent politician. BBC head George Entwistle also stepped down as a result of the controversy.

It would be better to wait until that mess clears up before taking that story to the press. Trust me on this one; I work in the journalism industry.
