No idea. If it had been up to me, I'd have cancelled it in 2008.

Nope... Katie from a few months ago is. Dealt at £8,000.

I personally don't count that as a game where the player would've won £250,000 because Katie made it clear she was 100% sure the 250K was in the other box. So she definitely would've swapped if Noel had done his job properly and remembered to ask her about the swap.

Well then you can count Rob who hypo-swapped for it in that case. :)

I'm sure there are plenty who don't get picked for the show, the production team will pick cautious players in order to save money. A week of 6 deals such as this is a heck of a lot cheaper than one person winning the jackpot and 5 others winning a blue.

Also there's no need for insults to be thrown at players just becuase they're cautious.

I feel that this episode was made watchable ad infinitum by Smithy's personality. Put almost anyone else in that position and the broadcast tape should have been quietly disposed of via the use of a giant magnetic wiper.

:girl pic of the girl is to congratulate the 5 female QMs....all showed bravery, especially
Nong-who was left with £5 and the 250k....the 7 yr quest for the first male QM continues....
Smithy was a great character,i figured he would deal early,as he was cautious with his
advice on the wings.lets hope the lucky guy who becomes first male QM shows great
bravery,like Nong,or is very lucky,like Suzanne.i hope he has a story,and there is a sense
of destiny,at play.of course,i myself auditioned for the show...what seems like CENTURIES
ago!!...u all know that by now... ;)

I think I'll give that a miss - he was banned here for a reason. :)

Worth pointing out at this point that the jackpot win track record for women aged over 25 is the same as the men's. And that last month we had 4 women undersell the £250k, at least 2 of which were on a not-dissimilar level of caution as today.

At least Smithy didn't seem the slightest bit bothered about losing out as much as he did. The whole show almost felt like he was in on some sort of gag that nobody else was...

I have quite a few magnets stuck to my fridge door in my apartment. Perhaps I can use them to construct a magnetic wiping machine, and then lend it to you guys to get rid of bad DoND epiosodes. Whaddaya say, gang ;)?

Yes please !

:D

Although I think Channel 4 would need one better, to eradicate the dirt from the gold so to speak.

Also, there was this one guy who undersold the 250k... years ago... on Bonfire Night, of course.

Oh my God, Skyline remembered an old DOND game! :o

Exactly. Even though the % of men who've won the QM is 0%, the % of women who've won the jackpot is just under 0.5%

Enjoyable game banter wise but the least said about the deal statistically the better.

Loved Smithy on the wings but there was a bit too much faffing around there, game seemed to go on forever

I expected him to be a cautious player but that deal caught me by surprise, it was almost like he'd got bored of the game..

Have to say he took the revelation he'd missed out on big money a lot better than some who sold it for a lot more...

Now that I think about it, and from what you've said, I'm now convinced that Smithy was a character, created by Endemol to troll the viewing audience and the studio attendees, Edmonds included. I think this was a brilliant move and just what we needed. I mean, some of the negative reactions have been incredibly funny. Admittedly, it'd be even funnier if Smithy was the genuine article, but still, top notch stuff from Endemol here :D

I just hope that this comedic and light-hearted treat for us isn't a 'compromise' for future games which may be of an unairable quality...

You forgot another coincedence - they're both human.
