As it clearly has been shown he is a very bad board reader, then at five box with just ONE blue remaining, he probably wouldn't have seen a massive greater chance of a red being in the box...........

Right, has Dean made the right choice ? Let's hope so, to stop this thread reaching 3 pages with people moaning about a ''lack of bravery'' on Dean's part.

Tommy (Box 12) - £50

Sammie (Box 14) - £250

'Newbie' Deepa (Box 8 ) - 1p

Deepa wanted that to be blue ! Someone needs to pay attention...

The Banker now realises that he needs to find a Bryan Ferry Cd ! Try the market...

£3,000 would've been the offer.

Dean has, in Box 6 - £15,000

Richie didn't have a big red, so guys, stop going on about it !

Box 5 completes the game with 50p

NEVER NEVER NEVER a good idea to bring a photo of your kids along as you know the Banker is going to take very much advantage of that and try to get to the player...

When will these players learn?

Either that, or put the photo away (i.e. in pocket) once you have shown it...

He most likely would have accepted the 5 box offer...

Dean says he can now get his ferry trip.

Ah, the Banker has dropped the Brayn Ferry CD and is giving Dean an extra £500 in spending money.

Dean now takes home £7,000. :-D

Sorry to say this but anyone who accepts mind-games like that is just a wuss. :smt011

Agreed with that.

Oh and just like Zara's game they give extra money for no reason whatsoever.

Banker obviously knew Dean was never going to be a O H O type of player.

So he always had the upper hand.

Dean reminded me of former England Rugby League captain Jamie Peacock - sounded a bit like him too.

Cautious deal and unlucky to hit the 1 in 14 chance of an all blue round.

Well the fight seemed to go out of Dean after the £250k was revealed. Something of a deafeatest deal that backfired. Certainly should have gone one more round though I wonder how many people would have been goaded on by that 5 box and crashed back down again? (having said that £15k is a very good consolation prize if they did)

And Noel - shut up about the Male Quarter Millionaire will you? At least until they get a decent way into the game

Well, that was unfortunate for several reasons: the £250,000 going at the worst possible time, the mind-games, and the ridiculously inflated proveout offer.

Overall, a game to forget, though through no fault of Dean's. :(

The idea of being a 'realist' has become a bit skewed on the show recently with all the talk of what might happen if the top 3 went in one round.

At 8-box the board could have gone one way or the other, and Dean's deal was probably the result of being a bit too worried about it not going his way.

A realist can also mean a family man who knows the value of money, who would like a few thousand to do something with the family and a bit of "just in case" cash, rather than take the risk for any larger amount.

Perhaps this is the reason why so far all the £250,00 winners are ladies of a specific age and don't have that type of pressure weighing them down influencing their decisions.
