Yes! That should get him a decent bailout.

The Banker says that he thought Phil had made a big mistake when he turned down the last offer, as the odds were that he would hit one of the high reds.

Banker's offer:

£16,750

Very good offer... and this offer will test him. If he no deals this offer, then looks like we have another OHO.

That's enough for me to deal. 'Twould be sensible for him to as well. But nothing wrong with risking it either.

Phil does a little dance as Noel repeats the offer. Phil talks about what the money could do for him, he then gets lots of advice from the wings.

Phil says

DEAL

Excellent! Great result from a sensible deal! Well done Phil! :smt023

Third Phil in a row to spank the Banker, unless I'm mistaken!

It would've been funny if the last offer was £4,007. He surely should've put the number 7 somewhere in there. :P

Considering how badly Phil's partner supposedly took him being chosen for the show over her, it's just as well he got a good result from his game, otherwise he could have been sleeping on the sofa for a while longer!

Not falling for the banker's same-offer-3-times mind games paid off, although I'd have been very tempted to play on at 5-box with the £10k backing up the 2 big sums - thinking about it, we've actually seen £20k offered on similar boards in the past, albeit in games that didn't follow a long run of caution. So arguable either way really, thankfully Phil jumped the right way, and taking the Stan Laurel jokes in good spirit too!

Given the Banker claimed he would have offered £40k at 5-box yesterday, the estimate on the wings of £20k+ for keeping the top 2 wasn't all that inconsistent with the proveout generosity yesterday (although it would never have been that high in live play).

Tough call at 5-box - dependant on whether you though the £75k/blue and £50k/blue offers were worth the risk. Happily, we never found out what they would have been.

An exciting and amusing game. Thought the 5 box offer was very good, especially considering the fall back had gone, just relieved that Phil's decision was vindicated in proveout
