What a shame, says Noel. The Banker says this is the easiest offer he's ever had to make. It is a week's abseilling in the Cairngorms, as Gavin is scared of heights! Gavin says he'd prefer money!

Banker's offer:

£10,000

Yes Noel's hamming up of the excitement and/or drama seems much more forced than it used to be. I particularly don't like the way he nearly always turns on the contestant ('have you just made the biggest mistake of your life?' etc etc) when they choose to deal early.

Mind you he does have to listen to more sob stories than The Samaritans as well as be party to the hours and hours of material that gets left on the cutting room floor so its difficult to blame him if he's getting bored of it all.

The Banker can clearly see right through him and I reckon he is going to get him nice and cheap.

Gavin gets some advice from the wings, with Smithy saying 'it's a long way to Tipperary!' Richie says Gavin is more likely to take out two blues and a red, but it could be the other way round. Dean says he's always worried about the big sums going, and he'd hate to see the two big sums disappear.

Gavin begins to get emotional again. Noel gives Gavin a bit of time to have a think.

Gavin says:

NO DEAL

Wow, £10,000. The Banker treating Gavin with the mild contempt I foresaw earlier on. No more than £15,000 for an all blue round and no more than £13,000 if two oranges go, exposing the top 2 further.

And I just knew ol' Smithy would be a character :)

Round 4

Noel says Gavin could beat himself up if he's made a mistake.

Box 17 with Laura - £750

Noel tells Gavin to focus and concentrate.

Box 8 with Sheri - £5,000

That's OK, says Noel. Gavin tells to others not to worry if he hits the big money.

Box 18 with Caerwyn - £15,000

Banker time...

I expect the offer to be no more than £13,000.

You hit the right one of the top three, says Noel. The Banker says he knows how much courage it took Gavin to turn down £10,000.

Banker's offer:

£18,000

Help, says Gavin! Smithy says Gavin is well on the way to Tipperary now! Richie says the game can be blown in two or three boxes.

Noel gives Gavin a few seconds to think before he asks the question.

Gavin says:

DEAL

Very respectable indeed.

Noel says we could have one of the most popular Spankings ever here.

Noel calls a break...

An £8k increase was not something I expected from a 2 Red - 1 Blue round.

Because of course there is always another round in every game after the deal point, unless of course there isn't.

We're back...

Round 5 - proveout

Noel says Gavin played the game with his heart on his sleeve.

Box 14 with Billy - £3,000

You can't tell anything from that, says Noel.

Box 7 with Sammy - £100

Now we're going the wrong way, says Noel. He says he thought Gavin could be the first male £250,000 winner, and some of the crew members agreed!

Box 2 with Smithy - 10p

Banker time...

Yep, I was right... one round too soon I reckon.

I think we will once again see the £26,000.

Oh, whoops, says Noel.

Banker's offer would've been:

£40,000
