Won't be however if the £250,000 is in the box.

Yes it will be because he did not know if the £250K was in his box at the time of the deal.

The harsh reality is the £250,000 is still sitting there says Noel.

Banker's offer would've been:

£26,000

£26,000?! I'd definitely be gone at that, were it the real offer.

YES! Just one round too soon... of which he probably would have dealt at the £26,000.

Noel opens Paul's box 19 and reveals £50

Box 1 with Mave contains the £5,000

You made hard work of that didn't you says Noel, and Paul says it was bonkers wasn't it.

Not too bad a game. Don't blame Paul for dealing when he did. And I very much doubt 5-box would've been as high as £26,000.

I think they put Paul in the teaser trailer as some kind of forward warning there were a lot of very emotional players coming up! There are probably several reasons for this, although seeing that they've seen a very hard-fought £250k win, and the 2000th show coming up, it's hardly surprising that these are emotional times in the Dream Factory.

Paul had a difficult job there with the £250k becoming very isolated early on and being the only thing keeping the offers up. If I was playing I'd have asked Noel to button up a few times so I could think straight...

He has to be up there with one of the most extreme (to the maximum core) very cautious players of all time... but thankfully the £250,000 was not in his box.

Time to shut up now. Idiot boy.

Well done, Paul, for getting £12,500 out of a very scary and isolated board :D

I second that, and Mark you cannot seriously call a player cautious because they exercise caution on a precarious board. Clearly a precarious board calls for caution from any sensible player.

There is also no need to be thankful that the £250K was not in his box, for no matter what amount happened to be in his box he made a sensible decision which cannot be faulted.

I agree with this too. They also always say "£x is a lot of money", "what would £x do for you?" or they say that it's a 'good offer' even though the offer is rubbish for the board sometimes (£12,500 was not rubbish though).

i quite agree often offers are rubbish, but at once you leave the game money is money and the "offer" is irrelevant. If £5k is offerred on a strong board, and is a poor offer, and the play takes it, it will do exactly the same for that player as a "good" offer of £5k on a bad board! That is what the players, and anyone with sense will at least consider. £5k is £5k and if someone decides to not want to rosk that as it is too much for them to risk, then respect them for it. These players are playing a game, but can change there lives, and some people can seriously change their lives for a lot less money than others, I would far prefer to see people win low amounts and know it will do them good than see people win nothing like Mark De Souza through no choice of his own, or players or gamble and go bust when trying to large wins.

A game where the £250k stays in play but becomes isolated early in the game is always a tough one to play, As long as you miss it the offers should keep going up, but hit it and the game is effectively over, at best you end up chasing a relatively modest sum.

Paul took a good offer for a precarious board, unfortunately he went one round too soon, but that doesn't make his decision any less valid or sensible
