I honestly doubt she would take the Banker's Gamble in any case, but I may be wrong!!

Box 6 with Damien contains the £50,000

The Banker calls and delivers Bobby's back scratcher and also a dozen red roses :D

Yay! :D

Good game! Bobby was a great character, deal was on the cautious side, but great to see it pay off! :D

The £250k in box 4 AGAIN - that's 111 times now. It has only been in box 13 60 times. Random, or what??

Great, a cautious deal turns out to be a spanking! Good game. :)
This thread's going to be a lot more quiet than the thread for yesterday's game though... ;-)

Well, the overdue big victory has finally arrived. Hopefully, this will negate the farce of yesterday!!

Yes, a big victory all right. Only 11 players have sold a 1p box for more, and her winnings were 190,000,000% of what she had in her box!

It was a rubbish offer but at least she still got a spanking out of that and avoided becoming #43 in the 1p Club. :)

I was getting '1p in the box' vibes for some reason, by the time it got to 5-box I was convinced :o

Anyway, big congratulations to Bobby for getting a great sum of money to help her needs ! :-D

I actually shouted in delight at the penny being revealed, meant it shut up our regular champions of hindsight play for at least a day !

By the way, could anyone be kind enough to tell me if we've ever had £250,000 on the table being followed by 1p on consecutive shows (or vice versa) ? :)

Tonnes of times. For example, Fred from July last year sold the £250,000 (for £26,000), and the next day, Charlotte joined the 1p club.

What was the largest amount of money the 1p was sold for?

Alex sold the 1p for £88,000 in October 2010.

And that broke the record that had been held since January 2006, £33,000 by Julie Walton.

Exactly the sort of decision I least expected after yesterday - I'd call this one the more cautious of the two decisions, even.

But that's a stunning surprise with a brilliant outcome for the player. That'll shut Noel up for a while.

Bobby was a joy to watch in all her shows. She was as lovely off camera as she was on camera, made all her own clothes, joined in with all the warm up banter from Mark Olver, and played the game how she wanted. She wouldnt have even worried if she had a bigger box on the table and lost it, and her family wouldnt of either. As her son said, they were proud of her regardless.

Enjoy the money Bobby.

PS, can people who have not visited the studios shut up about how long people take to make decisions. You dont see the correct time for each decision, you see the amount of time the editing team decide they want to show you. So dont moan at the player, moan at the editing team.

No non-feeding from me today.

There were 12 live shows like that - we don't need the other 1,900 games played at quick pace to encourage people not to consider their decisions.

This could go down as the game of the month for me.

The decision was probably more cautious than yesterday's though.

Mark wrote:
YES... top two found in the next round... she should count herself VERY lucky.

Odds of taking out top 2 from 8-box: 10.7%
Odds of Oli having the £250k in his box when he dealt yesterday: 9.09%

I could argue Oli was very UNLUCKY to have the QM in his box yesterday.

-----------------
I guess you can't please some people at any time. It's clear the 11-box offer was low enough to discourage a second deal at the point in a row but the 8-box offer was short of what I would have wanted but it was enough for Bobby and she cleared out the top 2 before 2-box to get herself a much needed OPW after yesterday.

The advice people give is pretty much the same everyday.

Why do they ask?

As for the staple "we'd all hate for you to go home with a blue" garbage......

Exactly. The advice is ALWAYS the same stuff! "If you take out the 3 highest, the offer will be much lower." Am I the only one who wants to shout "NO S*** SHERLOCK!" at the TV? :P

I think they probably use the wings as a sounding board for what they are thinking. As a mathematician, I'd love someone to be able to give really detailed advice on how good the offer is, how volatile the board is etc. but it would probably bore the average viewer.
