We're back...

Noel runs through the game so far, and how James has gone at his lowest offer.

Round 5 - proveout round

Box 5 with Niko - 1p

Perfect start, says Noel.

Box 13 with Kingsley - £35,000

Not good enough, says Noel.

Box 19 with Dave - £250

Banker time...

£17k would be a deal for me here.

£17k may have been a possibility of the BG. Not a chance with £10k so this might be around the £26k mark.

£17,000

Round 6 - proveout round

Box 20 with Jackie - £1,000

Box 15 with Jan - £10

Box 8 with newbie Martin - £50,000

Banker time with £1 and £100,000 remaining.

Banker's offer would've been:

£22,000

Noel reveals £1 in James's Box 16. :D

Box 3 with Mark contains £100,000.

James says he's pleased with his winnings. :D

I can just see Mark ready to type his trademark post then and then having to hit the delete button.

It's a TBW but for a non-gambler, that wasn't too terrible a decision at 8-box.

Apologies for the very disjointed commentary today. My Internet was being really clunky. :x

Hopefully, it will be better next time I do this.

Those sorts of Deals are actually harder to take, I think - and usually it's female contestants who make them, at least according to past studies from international versions (male contestants usually chase losses once they've incurred them, and before you ask, that's the only significant gender-based difference in risk-aversion that's been found in any study of DoND).

Would have gone on myself but it wouldn't have needed much more to take me out at 8-box, and I'd only have gone at 5-box anyway. A somewhat frustrating game, but at least it was a five-figure win and at least it wasn't an OPL.

Ah, so that's why the time from the fifth box of the first round to Noel calling the first break seemed very quick indeed... :eyes: :eyes: ;) ;)

No probs, Jack. ;) ;)

I still can't help but wonder if he and his wife really took that game seriously... the impression I got was that they didn't. :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:

Well, that really was quite unlucky. That block just looked indestructable, and I think that's probably what lead him on. The 8 box deal was undersatndable, I think he just felt he'd gone one too far that's all.

The most likely outcome was to take out 2 of the boxes greater than £15k and 1 blue. To take out 3 of them was very unlucky (although it could be argued on that board that the £15k could be counted as disposable too)

Well that was an odd game, looked to be the antithisis to yesterday's game. The board certainly looked to strong to walk away from at the third offer, but i guess that very damaging round was enough to put the wind up James.

In the end a somewhat cautious deal and with hindsight maybe he should have listened to his wife and gone at the 3rd offer. Sure the forum would probably have imploded but he would have got close to the maximum out of the game and caused himself a bit less stress

Very good that he didn't.

You realise he came away with LESS than that offer? The most he could have got was an extra £2k by going to the final offer
