Laura's game today.

Noel hopes we are a little more postive today as we appear to have the Sidney shadow after he took an unwise gamble in his game on Sunday. Alma had the caution of following a crash, but the added thing of having a very similar board to him throughout.

Had the £100,000 yesterday.

AT LAST!!!

Why have I been waiting for this game for so long?

Well, to quote what I said in the "How long has each player been on?" thread:

Then the next three won £15k (29 January 2008), £16.5k (11 March 2008) and £35k (19 September 2009) respectively, with only the middle one not securing an OPW. And even then, she only missed out on £3.5k more.

£316.5k out of a possible £320k is just about as close to perfection as you can get...

The most recent two, however, spoiled the record a little bit: the one two years ago today (

) dealt £15k at 8-box, but lost £2.5k of that on an ill-thought-out gamble at 3-box, opening the door for a pretty big TBW.

And the one on the Seaside Special of 21 July 2010 - remarkably, the first Laura who couldn't be called young, though nor was she a senior citizen - made a cautious 8-box deal and missed out on having £45k. She did, though, double her £12k on the bottles twist, and thus turned a second pretty big TBW into a narrow TPW.

So how will this Laura - the seventh - fare?

Will she do what all her predecessors have done - win an amount that has at least five figures in it, and beat the Banker in some way - or is the bubble destined to finally burst? :eyes:

Well, if she does do what all her predecessors have done, then don't be surprised if I get excited when the next Laura appears on the wings...

Laura has box 12 today.

Laura is a part-time sales assistant from Liverpool, and is part-time because she has a little girl. She talks about the store she works in and how she juggles looking after her daughter with her job. We get to see a family photo with her daughter and partner. Laura would love an intimate wedding, but her partner hasn't proposed yet, so Noel puts some pressure on him to propose by telling him to.

Noel says that he isn't so sure about Laura's footwear today, and she says that she has got another pair she's been wearing all the time but today she left them back at the hotel. The Banker calls and says that he has got Laura's shoes and she needs to be nice to him otherwise she won't see the shoes again!
